Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Lucas and Mark had been best friends since they were kids, they shared everything even the little food they got once in a while. Both having lost their parents in a breach they decided to take care of each other.

Even after they joined Tigers gang they still stuck together. Working for Tiger was almost as dangerous as fighting a corrupted or an abyssal.

That man was ruthless, he did not care one bit about his men and as a bloodline holder he could snap a normal human like a twig. Lucas had seen the guy slaughter 15 armed men without a single scratch on his body.

The only reason the two of them survived this long was because of his intelligence and Marks senses. Mark could tell when a job was dangerous and he was calculative.

Working together the two of them had been able to lay low avoiding been given certain missions. They gave the impression of not being very reliable whilst not incompetent enough for Tiger to get rid of them.

However it seems their luck had ran out. According to Mark this was the probably the most dangerous mission they had ever had. They ofcourse don't know why.

The mission was supposed to be simple, retrieve the guns from the dead guys but the guns were gone, even though it not their fault Lucas knew Tiger will still blame them.

Someone was here, he heard Mark say. He went to check and Mark was right, somebody was here. There were signs of a fire.

I smell blood and roasted meat, Mark said. Really? How high are your senses man? Mark grinned. Lucas looked around the room and noticed the wardrobe had been moved.

There were marks on the floor showing it was dragged. He took a step forward and just as he was about to touch the wardrobe he stopped and looked out the window at the building across.

It was dark and he could not see anything, unlike bloodline holders whose senses were beyong what logically possible for a human, his were normal.

Something is wrong, I feel cold, said Mark. This was how he was when something dangerous was lurking around. I know, we're being watched.

What? Where? Who, who is watching us? Mark panicked. I don't know, don't worry though, I don't think they will shoot. Why? Because Tiger will hear, I don't think they want that, he said looking at a window on the other building.

Although he couldn't see anybody he had a feeling somebody was there, it was the perfect spot for a sniper afterall. All this was conjecture on his part and he damn hoped he was right or they are both dead.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Ashborn could actually hear their conversation, even though he was all the way across the street and they were not talking loudly. His senses had really improved.

Smart, he whispered, the guy was right, he did not intend to shoot them unless they force him to. If that guy had tried to move the wardrobe he would've blown his head off.

Even without training he knew with his senses, the chances of missing from this distance were low. He watched as the two men backed off slowly.

They left the building whispering to each other. Time to move, he said as packed his meat and went to collect his guns. If they bring Tiger with them he would not be able to hide.

As his name implies,Tiger has the bloodline of a tiger and felines were known for their senses. As long as he stays away from the town centre and lives closer to the wall he might be safe for a while.

Even with his senses it was impossible for Tiger to smell him from this far away, especially with all of the different smells in the air, this town was dirty afterall.

He was south of the town and he went east, a few people lived there. He found an abondened building closer to the wall, it was actually closest to the wall and the wall behind it had a hole.

The reason he chose this building is because nobody in their right mind would live this close to the wall with a hole. If there's a breach they would be the first to die.

Things were different for him though, since he was a bloodline holder now he needed to go hunting for blood cores, he needed to grow stronger.

He settled himself on a middle floor. The building had 5 floors remaining. Before dawn he left through the hole towards the forest in the distance.

Outside the town was filled with beasts, nobody could survive there, especially at night. Fortunately the place around their town only had low level beasts or so he heard.

He could not imagine beasts stronger than these. Some of these ones like the ash serpent could already block bullet. Without luck like the one he had, it could've slaughtered the entire town, maybe with the exception of Tiger.

Ashborn didn't know how powerful Tiger actually was but he didn't believe he was bulletproof. He went deeper into the forest under the cover of the night sky.

Quietly he climbed a tree and sat there. He was not foolish enough to wander around the forest, he was going to wait here for the beasts to show up.

He didn't have to wait for long, a huge boar with long metal like tusk appeared, it razor sharp teeth were chewing on a tree bark. The thing was probably 3 metres tall, with a dark bark like hide.

He raised his gun and pointed at it heard. It was all to oblivious, happily munching on a tree bark. Slowly he put the safety feature off. He flexed his finger a little and adjusted his position so the recoil wouldn't drop him off the tree.

It was strange how he was in so much control of his body without any proper training, bloodlines were truly a miraculous thing.

Just as he was about to pull the trigger something jumped off the tree above the boat. It was pure black and looked like large cat.

He was startled, he didn't even see it until it moved. The feline creature dug it long black claws on the boars back and bit it. The boar roared and jumped around trying to get the cat off it back yet it failed.

The cat held on like glue, low growls escaping it mouth and before long the boar was dead. The creature turned it green eyes at him.

His heart pounded looking at it, his instincts told him to run, he could not fight this, he was just a human..no, I'm not just a human, I'm bloodline holder, I will not cower to this cat.

His eyes hardened and he looked it dead in it hungry savage eyes as he raised his gun and pointed at it head. The creature growl threateningly yet his heart did not waver, actually it did he was just bluffing but it did not need to know that.

Yeah, come on, I dare you, he whispered with a calm voice "don't come here, ignore me, go away" he thought . It backed off and dragged it prey which probably weighed tons, he realised how strong that cat is. Sweat was pouring off his face like rain. Damn that was scary. He ran back to town.
