Act 4 – Scene 1: The Inner Conflict
The mansion was unusually quiet that morning.
Golden sunlight poured through the sheer curtains like liquid warmth, casting soft patterns across Sarah's face as she stirred awake. Her eyes blinked open, slow and uncertain—like waking from a dream she wasn't sure was over.
She sat up in bed, knees pulled to her chest, the silence in the room matching the noise in her head.
Her thoughts were tangled, a thousand strings pulling her in every direction.
Why did he bring me here?
What does he even want from me?
What did any of this mean…?
A pause. A wild flutter in her chest.
> Does he…?
No. No. No, no, no.
She buried her face in her hands.
I'm overthinking. Totally overthinking. It's impossible.
But that whisper—what if—lingered.
She exhaled sharply, swinging her legs off the bed.
Why does it affect me this much?
Why do I care?
She stood in front of the mirror, the golden light outlining her like a painting.
He's tall. Like… skyscraper tall. 1.8 meters, probably.
And I—barely 1.5. I can't even reach his shoulders. Great. I look like a kid next to him.
She stood on her toes, trying to stretch herself taller—an instinctive, helpless gesture.
But her own reflection stared back with a quiet kind of sadness.
She dropped back onto her heels with a sigh.
Why do I feel like I've seen him before?
He looks so familiar.
That face… that aura...
Her eyes narrowed.
He's exactly like those cold, bossy CEOs in K-dramas.
The kind who steal whatever they want. The kind who never ask.
And she?
She felt like a background character in his world.
How could I possibly match 1% of his world?
His confidence, his charm, his control?
Her gaze fell to her own reflection again. Small. Messy hair. Oversized T-shirt.
She looked like a 17-year-old who didn't belong in his galaxy.
"Why am I even thinking about this?!"
She slapped both cheeks, as if trying to knock sense into herself.
He's 21.
I'm 17.
This is weird.
Right?
But her reflection didn't answer.
And neither did the feeling blooming, quietly… uncontrollably… in her chest.
