Flashing lights.
Yeah, that's what I would call it.
Shockwaves blew out from our battle, shaking the very ground anything tried to stand on. Even some of it was littered with craters.
I panted, smoke radiating off of my hands and body. Harder than I thought this was going to be, but fun nonetheless.
And Guide's still timing me. One minute has passed. I need to finish in the next 3.
Kami stares, pieces of his armor broken off. We circle each other, slow, calculating steps. The thing about Kami is that he truly had no AI path, he was unpredictable.
He didn't have a "set" fighting pattern. Each skill is used randomly and could easily link with each other for a combo. It's like fighting a PvP player.
That's what I liked about him.
He took a quick first step, and vanished. My eyes quickly traced for him as I turned around, catching his blade with both of my hands.
He struggled to push it further past me, probably wanted to maul me right there.
I shot him a look, "Nice try."
Pushing the blade back, I spin my body with quick speed and land a perfect executed kick to his side.
A cracking sound could be heard, booming even as Kami goes flying back worse than I thought. I'm not here to pull my punches. I need a punching bag.
I soar ahead, intercepting his tumbling body before it lands. I grab his ankle—then launch him higher
Holding out my hand, black fire begins to spark up and ignite.
"Inferno Magic: Blackfire Missile." I chant.
Instantly, 5 blackfire projectiles seek out for Kami within the sky. He regains his bearings and manages to deflect one, but the other 4 collide and explode greatly.
There, nailed the burning effect.
As his body leaves the smoke cloud up in the sky, he pulls from behind him a potion.
My smile falls.
He drinks it completely, rendering the burning debuff nonexistent.
I deadpan.
Yeah, dynamic bosses can sometimes be cheesy too.
He lands gracefully, with some type of feather falling physic and gimmick. I could only stretch out my arms to a certain length and eye him again. He narrows his eyes at me, trying to be threatening and imposing.
I would lie to say if I wasn't, but with many close calls with death (character getting wiped cleanly) I would say it's the least of my worries. Kami doesn't scare me, not to the extent of other World Raid bosses.
But tackling him on solo and farming many, many clears on him was probably one of the best things that I have ever done in the game.
He speeds up, teleporting near me instantly. He feints the first attack, but it's not like I ever fell for that in the first place. He brings his blade quickly near my head, and with quick thinking, I roll my head forward.
There's a large clang, and Kami tries to get his blade unstuck between my thick and unruly horns. Black, made out of dragotanium, a material that's practically the most durable thing in the game.
The best part is that my horns are made out of it. I tilt my head with sudden speed, and the blade breaks apart. Kami stands back, staggered for a moment.
Then, I could only smile.
I'm about to absolutely beat the fuck out of this guy—
[System Notification!]
[Server]
[Will shutdown in 3 minutes!]
I wave the tabs away and extend my combo—then crack Kami across the face with a clean right hook.
Did they shorten the time the server will be shut down? I could've sworn that it was going to be for a couple more hours…
…no worries, I'll just finish Kami off right here, right now.
I weave my hands around, a distinct black aura being left with each foreign movement. Then, bring my hands closer to my chest.
"Inferno Bind!"
Black constructs of flame bind Kami, by his ankles and his wrists. And there's nothing he can do to attack me back. I could only smile, and laugh greatly.
"Here we go!"
I don't move, or do anything, no—my third limb does.
No, not that one.
The other one.
I turn around slightly, and my long, sleek scaly tail quickly searches for Kami and constricts him around the throat, seemingly choking him. The sounds of gasping for air only fill my ear. I'm not a masochist, I swear.
With a quick flick of my tail, he's thrown away. Extending my right hand, I chant another spell.
"Touch of Lightning!"
A lightning affinity-based one, different from my Inferno based spells. Even though I resonate more with those, I do like the lightning spells a whole lot.
What came first was the sound of thunder, and then lightning cracked multiple times on the same spot. I could only grin as the wind speeds picked up more and more now.
I'm winning this.
Easily.
Kami rose from the smoke, armor seared now. There was no way he could win this, and since I turned off the ability to see damage indicators or health bars in the settings, it was as if I'm fighting blind.
But…playing this game for a long time, you just sort of knew when you were putting belt to ass, really. And the same could be said likewise for anyone else.
His body moved, eerily, his arms drooped low, long. His body hunched over. I halfway expected him to be done already. Just fall over, and die.
Actually, I have the best move.
I weaved my hans again, and clashed my wrists together, making sure they were perfectly touching. Concentrating pure mana, I flew forward, leaving rubble in my wake.
When I got close enough to Ryuu, I spun for a bit of more momentum to end him for good! As I pushed the attack towards him, he flinched and raised his arm!
But instead, what he got was the sound of confetti!
Confetti sprayed out around him, I slightly floated, laughing crazily and kicking out my legs. I noticed he was about to retaliate, and quickly outsped him, appearing behind and gripping his wrist.
Then, threw him towards plenty of stone and jagged rocks that were embedded deep into the earth. Yeah…I'll never get tired of flinging people around. One of the perks of this meta build. I love it.
Hopefully they don't nerf it by the time the other game comes out…nah, they probably will.
A sigh escapes my lips, another 30 days in the character creation and meta build testing lab it seems.
Kami raises from the rubble, but he lost that glow in his eyes. The red glow. The one that makes me think he's still in, World Boss Raid mode. I thought my job here was done, I was going to bring out Guide, tell her to clock.
But he stood there. Waiting. Ominously.
He didn't do anything else, really. He didn't. It was weird, and odd weird. Weirdly odd. You know what I'm trying to say, right?
Then, a pop up came immediately.
{Error. Syntax Error. Tier 0 - Medusa's Stare}
"H-huh?" I barely could get it out. My vision shook, like my entire body was just hit with a Super Mana Art. My body shuddered, and slowly, I reailzed.
I couldn't move.
My legs couldn't move.
I was barely able to move my arms.
