It's the year 2050 in the beautiful realm of Arcadia, where the fabric of reality seems to be woven with the threads of the rise and fall of technology and a hunger for power, but there is more at hand than what meets the human eye.
A City that once stood firm as one has now been divided by socialism, coexisting in an uneasy domain where those in control wield power that does not belong to them. Stolen glory that once was meant to be used for good has now been cast down and taken advantage of by mere mortals. This great power has brought great progress for the city, but the heart has proven deceptive to those who have eyes to seek.
The prestigious New Arcadia City shines like a beacon of progress, with its sleek skyscrapers bathed in bright Celestial Energy powering the city, where Arcadian humans have set the foundations for years without knowledge of the greater forces working behind the scenes but as of recent with rapid progression the Celestial Realm radars have flown off the charts alerting, the use of cyber enhancement accessories in Arcadia which has proven to be popular. So much so that Arcadians designed several wearable devices that man's imagination couldn't comprehend in prior years. Soon after, these evolved into the manufacturing of robots and many more, which excitedly filled The New City of Arcadia with a sense of accomplishment, reliability, and companionship.
The streets are filled with Arcadians, passing by with rover boots that allow them to zoom to their destinations on foot at high speed. Children are prompted to wear safety versions with gliding wheels underneath, whilst adults have blazing jet boosters at the heels of their rover boots. Alternatively, some Arcadians make use of another mode of transport daily. They are seen flying in the lavender sky wearing jetpacks, moving in synchronized, orderly movements as if part of a graceful choreography orchestrated by the stars above that could be seen gleaning in the daytime.
The mysterious advancement in technology has taken the realm by force, sending cultivating shockwaves through all living beings in Arcadia. Despite citizens not truly knowing where the source of all these advancements stemmed from. They were happily breathing off the existence of the celestial energy, but to others, it had become the bane of their existence. Since then, a great separation has been made based on the choices and perspective of the living, influenced by the dead.
The New Arcadia City embraces the new high-tech advancements along with a cyber lifestyle, whilst the divided part of the city, called The Undergrid, chooses to remain where it all began, not progressing as vigorously, to preserve their authenticity and values. A variety of humans can be found in The Undergrid, some are labeled as pillagers and nomads but none of them care about the labels society has put on them; all they care to do is whatever suits them best. The Undergrid is home to the first and only cyborg who dwells there, hidden from the city life as a runaway, a cast out, but this someone has captivated the hearts of many who made a home there.
The Undergrid is a strange place filled with outdated technology and failed infrastructure situated at the farthest ditch of Arcadia. It seems to create an underground illusion as to how it's been expanded by any means possible, pushing below the surface. When walking the streets of The Undergrid glitching old holographic neon advertisements can be found out of place, and in the dark alleyways, an adventure awaits, depending on which door you choose to open. The constant smell of smoke and wet grass lingers in the air, and at a certain hour, a peculiar perfume can be smelled from high and low. Many living there use this scent as a way to tell time.
The previous President, Pedro Abstainance had high hopes for Arcadia alongside his partner Arnold Maximus, who was a scientist with devotion to his work and those he loved. Together, they mapped out great plans for all of Arcadia, and the architecture they developed can be found to this day leaning lopsided in The Undergrid.
Nobody has intended to break it down as it stands as a piece of art in The Undergrid. The elderly say it shows the relationship of Pedro and Arnold's partnership from the beginning to the end, and that it stems from deep emotions, hence it has been taken over by mossy pathways and ridges filled with sprouting nature that hold mysterious biological secrets. They believe this is the spirit of both Pedro and Arnold that is still haunting Arcadia, awaiting their dream envisionment to reach its full potential. Some elderly living in The New City Arcadia believe that as long as The Undergrid occupants halt the full evolution, then Arcadia will be doomed and end in ruins, cursed by Pedro and Arnold. The majority of elderly people living in The New City Arcadia have great faith in overcoming this superstitious fear now that Pedro's son has taken over.
Many superstitious folk however have chosen The Undergrid part of the city as a solitude. A place to start over, away from all the bustling of The New City Arcadia and its rules and regulations that seem to dull the mundane lifestyle. Young and old freely opted to start slowly reviving forgotten abandoned buildings and turn them into a home or simply create makeshift shelters. Choosing to live off the resources available in The Undergrid.
There seemed to be an unspoken rule that those living in the Undergrid understood; they were on their own and were not allowed to seek aid from President Lawrence and those in the city, despite being promised restoration on a suitable advancement for all Arcadians.
Both parts of the city held great secrets. Those who chose The New Arcadia City were seen as elite Arcadians and carried themselves with great pride and poise, with their simplified lifestyle they were able to enjoy more leisure and spend time lounging as they pleased or focused on expanded endeavours that wasn't always permitted without the great advancing but now with the ruling of President Lawrence Abstainace in place of his father. The young man has proven himself by following his father's great vision with an iron fist and a relentless hunger to deem himself worthy, regardless of the consequences. Taking Arcadia to great heights by unrealistic measures that have adorned the people with joy and hope for an even more fruitful future with him by their side.
But what none of the Arcadians know is that their existence is being weighed on ancient scales by Celestial Beings that have been watching the Arcadians closely for years from The Light Realm. This place serves as a foundation for all realms, with all things following from and through there. The Light Realm aims to keep the balance and has been observing and interceding where needed, despite its existence being known to few, and now including YOU!
