Chapter 2 - getting stronger

## **Chapter 2: Battle in the Sky, Power in the Air**

The moment Veer stepped out of his rundown house, he noticed something strange.

The streets weren't quiet like usual. Dozens of people were running toward the center of **Amar Nagar**, whispering excitedly.

He stopped one of the passersby.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"You didn't hear?" the man replied quickly. "A **duel** between the **Mishra** and **Singh families**. They're fighting over the newly discovered **Spirit Mine**!"

Veer's eyes narrowed.

A Spirit Mine… That was a treasure trove of natural energy. Enough to boost cultivation for generations. It made sense that two major families would clash over it.

"And they're settling it with a duel?" Veer asked.

"Yes. Both sides sent a **Level 9 Warrior**, just below the family head in strength. It's happening now, in the city center!"

The man ran off, and Veer didn't hesitate. He started running as well.

But unlike the others who came to **watch the battle**, Veer had a different purpose.

> **"This is the perfect chance,"** he thought.

> **"Strong cultivators release energy during battle… and my Attributed System can absorb it!"**

The streets grew louder as he approached the plaza. People packed the area, forming a massive circle around the open stone arena in the center of town. Guards stood by, holding back the crowd.

As Veer arrived, a thunderous **boom** echoed through the air.

He looked up.

Two figures clashed in midair — **one surrounded by blazing flames**, the other riding blades of howling wind.

"They're flying?" Veer gasped.

It wasn't true flight, but at Level 9, warriors could use their elemental force to leap and glide through the sky.

"That's the **Great Elder of the Mishra family**," someone whispered beside him.

"And the one fighting him is the **First Elder of the Singh family**!"

Both were terrifying figures — men who had lived decades in cultivation, each with a personal **inherited talent**.

The Mishra elder wielded **Wind Blade**, his attacks slicing through the sky like crescent moons.

The Singh elder countered with **Fire Ball**, launching exploding orbs of flame that scorched the air.

In this world, people could be born with **unique talents or physiques**, allowing them to unleash devastating power. Monsters had **bloodline talents** too — the stronger the talent, the more dominant they became in battle.

As the elders fought, energy exploded across the arena.

But while the crowd admired the spectacle, Veer's eyes were drawn to something **only he could see**.

> Floating in the air like soap bubbles were **invisible drops**…

>

> — **Wind Blade +1**

> — **Fire Ball +1**

> — **Wind Steps Technique +2**

> — **Natural Energy (Warrior Level 9) +10**

His jaw dropped.

"These drops… they're just **heaven-defying** for me!"

Suddenly, a **message** echoed in his mind.

> **\[Attribute Notification]: A large number of attribute drops detected within 50 meters.**

> **Would you like to collect them?**

Veer didn't hesitate.

**"Yes! Yes! Of course!"**

A gentle warmth passed through his body as a stream of **energy** flowed into him.

He felt as if his blood had been ignited, as if wind was now flowing through his veins alongside fire. A surge of strength spread from his chest to his limbs.

He opened his **Attribute Panel** instinctively.

The moment he saw it, a burst of joy filled his heart.

"I'm already start my cultivation journey from nothing!"

And more importantly — he had **two elemental talents** already.

He reached out mentally toward the fire and wind talents inside him, and a strange feeling responded.

> The talents weren't fixed.

> He could **remove or replace them** if needed. The system was flexible.

"Ten skill slots…" he murmured. "That means I can choose the path I want in the future. Wind, fire… or even more!"

He now understood just how powerful the **Attributed System** truly was.

With every battle he witnessed, every drop of energy left behind — **he could grow**.

Veer looked back at the sky, where the two elders were still exchanging deadly blows. Every swing of their arms created wind shockwaves and explosions of fire.

But for Veer?

> Every clash meant **more attribute drops**.

> Every moment meant **more power**.

This was his path now.

He wouldn't stay weak.

Not anymore.
