Chapter 15 - Taking Advantage of the Tribe

Following the attack, the wolf pack began to retreat up the mountain. Everyone followed closely. The wolf was four meters long, 1.8 meters tall at the shoulder, and weighed about 700 kilograms. The wolf king could weigh about 1,000 kilograms.

As the hunting team pressed on, the wolf pack was soon driven to the edge of the cliff. The wolf king roared and began to gather the wolves to prepare for a breakout. More than 60 people besieged a pack of less than 20 wolves, and the battle ended quickly without much suspense. There were three intermediate wolves in the pack, and the rest were elementary beasts.

Mu Bei came to the edge of the cliff and looked down. The straight cliff looked like it was cut by a knife. The bottom was full of fog and he couldn't see clearly. Mu Bei looked around and found that the surrounding mountains were very strange. Each mountain was very steep, and some of them looked like they were cut by a knife like this mountain.

The hunting team quickly cleaned up the battlefield, and the leader waved his hand and everyone walked down the mountain in an orderly manner. Mu Bei looked around along the way. With the arrival of winter, the wind would bring a hint of coolness. I heard in my previous life that winter was the time when the sky was filled with murderous intent and all things withered.

Mu Bei found a bamboo-like plant in front of him, and he felt that it looked very familiar. He couldn't remember where it was, so he dug a few times to see what it was. Mu Bei's experience was that if it looked familiar, he would dig it first.

Mu Bei's spear soon turned into a yellow fruit the size of a palm after the excavator dug half a meter down. Mu Bei had already figured out what it was, so he increased the force to enlarge the hole, and soon a whole piece was dug out. Mu Bei looked at the thing in front of him and smiled from ear to ear.

Ginger, which is bigger than a basin, is the best species for removing fishy smell and driving away cold. Zhan was standing by and watching Mu Bei grinning foolishly, holding a tree root in his hand. Zhan stepped forward and kicked Mu Bei in the butt and said, "You are stupid. Why are you grinning foolishly while holding a tree root?"

"You know nothing, this is a good thing, help me dig it up." Mu Bei said contemptuously. Mu Bei was just worrying that it was too slow to dig alone, and now a laborer came.

The two men were digging the soil with their buttocks sticking out. The two of them were very efficient. They dug out a pile in a short while. Mu Bei filled the animal skin bag on his body with it. Mu Bei said with a wicked smile: "Brother, you are strong, you can carry it."

Zhan rolled his eyes and didn't want to bother with this scumbag brother. He turned around and was about to run. As soon as he turned around, Mu Bei threw the bag on Zhan's shoulder and ran away first.

"Nothing good will happen if I'm with you." Zhan shouted from behind.

When Mu Bei and Zhan returned, the leader was discussing with everyone about setting off to the next camp early tomorrow morning. Some people were preparing to cook, with barbecued and boiled meat on the fire. Mu Bei casually threw the washed ginger into the pot of boiled meat.

"Bei, what did you put into the meat? Is your old illness coming back?" Li asked in confusion. Many people knew that when Bei was a child, he put herbs into the pot, which resulted in poisoning of his whole family.

Everyone's eyes were all on Mu Bei. Mu Bei looked a little embarrassed when his father revealed his dark history.

"This can remove fishy smells. It is edible. Just put a little bit each time and it will remove the fishy smell." Mu Bei explained quickly.

Everyone was skeptical. Mu Bei continued to explain: "Just like chili peppers, it can make the taste better." Everyone was a little convinced.

"How do you know this thing is edible?" The leader looked at Mu Bei and asked. Mu Bei's brain was working fast, trying to make up a reasonable explanation.

Mu Bei said: "I've tasted it and it tastes spicy. It should be able to remove the fishy smell. I found some around the tribe before. They were eaten by wild boars. I was curious and thought they were vegetarian. But it tasted spicy. I took the dried meat I brought with me and took a bite. As a result, the fishy smell of the dried meat disappeared. I searched for the same plant around the tribe for a long time but didn't find it again. I just came back and found a large patch of it on the roadside, so I dug some up and brought it back."

"If it's such a good thing, why don't you dig more?" the leader asked puzzledly.

"I was originally planning to dig a little more, but Zhan Yaopao and I were digging too slowly, so I decided to come back and report first." Mu Bei explained.

Everyone looked at Zhan. Zhan opened his mouth to explain, but after thinking for a long time, he couldn't think of any words. He opened his mouth for a while and then closed it. The leader was going to organize people to dig again. Mu Bei continued, "Leader, we may not be able to bring too much back."

"We have fifty or sixty ferocious beasts now, and we don't have enough manpower to carry other things. Besides, we only need to put a little of this thing in when we cook meat."

The leader finally decided to dig less and each person would carry a small amount of tree roots. Mu Bei wanted to correct him, saying it was not tree roots but ginger. He was about to speak but didn't know how to explain the origin of the word ginger, so he finally decided to use tree roots.

The return journey took several more days, and when approaching the tribe, Mu Bei discovered a giant hexagonal green dragon, twelve meters long, four meters high, and weighing nearly twenty tons, a high-level beast.

The leader immediately organized people to siege the dragon. After more than three hours of siege, the hexagonal dragon fell down. The earth shook when it fell. Mu Bei suggested throwing spears from a long distance to attack the dragon's soft spots, eyes and buttocks. The hexagonal dragon was exhausted to death or stabbed to death.

Fortunately, it was not far from the tribe, otherwise this huge beast would not be able to be taken away. Mu Bei worked hard for a long time before he finally chiseled a hole in Liujiao's neck and sucked it hard from the hole. The tribe had not hunted such a big beast for many years, and everyone was very excited. The leader had already arranged for someone to go back and call for help.

Three high-level warriors began to dismember the hexagonal dragon. Mu Bei was still plucking the wool from its neck.

Li shouted: "Northern high-level beast, can you drink so much?"

"It's okay, Father. I can still hold a little more in my stomach." Mu Bei raised his head and said, then lowered his head and continued drinking.

Mu Bei's breathing method was running at a high speed. The blood of the beast he drank was refined as soon as it reached his body. The refining speed was several times faster than before. Zhan ran over and pushed Mu Bei, saying, "We are almost home. How can you fall asleep lying on the neck of the beast?"

When Mu Bei heard Zhan's voice, he didn't even raise his head, but just waved his arms. The three high-level warriors were still cutting very quickly. Father saw that Mu Bei was still lying on the beast and shouted, "Bei got up."

Mu Bei stood up and saw that the hexagon on the ground had been cut up, leaving only the head and the long neck. Mu Bei said awkwardly: "You guys are too fast, I was asleep just now and didn't pay much attention, and then he ran with the prey."

Mu Bei thought as he walked, this time it was a good deal. It was great to have at least doubled my strength, but the blood of the fierce beast called dragon was more nutritious, I should pay more attention next time. As soon as Mu Bei arrived at the big stone gate, he saw Xiaomei and Amu standing in the crowd looking around. Mu Bei estimated that they could not see anyone, each of them was carrying prey that was several times bigger than themselves, it would be strange if they could see anyone.

Mu Bei saw his little sister running over quickly and yelled, "Second brother."

Mu Bei asked doubtfully: "How did you see mine?"

"The way you walk is different from others. Even Am recognized you." Rong said with a smile.

"You didn't recognize your elder brother." Zhan asked sourly from the side.

"Huh, who said I didn't recognize you? Just look at yourself, you tricked such a small wolf and asked my second brother to carry such a big blue ox, and you still have the nerve to ask me if I know you." Rong Xiao said with a stern face.

Mu Bei laughed beside him. Zhan was so angry that he couldn't say a word. Zhan wanted to explain that they were close to the stone gate and Mu Bei had to take turns carrying the load, but before he could finish, Am started to yell at him to go back and deal with him. Zhan knew that explanations were useless. Explanations were just evading responsibility, a phrase Am often said when he was young.
