Episode 25: Moonfire Unleashed
The ground trembled beneath Juvia's feet as the Crimson Watcher stepped forward, dragging his heavy chains through the shattered earth. Every step he took poisoned the air with darkness. Trees withered in his wake, and the moon above dimmed as if recoiling from his presence.
Ha-jun stumbled to his feet, blood trickling from a wound on his forehead. "Luna! Get Juvia out of here!" he yelled, blocking the Watcher's path with both swords drawn.
But Juvia didn't move.
"No," she said through clenched teeth, her eyes locked on the monster before her. "I won't run again."
The Watcher laughed, a deep, bone-chilling sound. "Foolish girl. You may carry her light, but you are not her. You are still weak."
Suddenly, the chains binding his arms snapped. Magic seals shattered like glass, and his true form began to emergeāhorns curling from his skull, black wings stretching into the sky, and a voice that split the heavens.
"You will kneel before the dark," he growled.
Juvia's heart pounded. Her body trembled. But then⦠the whispers returned.
"Let go⦠Become what you were born to be."
She closed her eyes, gripping the Moonblade. Her hair lifted, light circling around her body. Symbols etched in silver traced along her arms and collarbone. A memory not her own surged into her mindāa woman cloaked in white armor, standing against a storm of darkness. The first Moon Warrior.
Juvia opened her eyes.
They glowed silver.
With a cry that shook the stars, she raised her bladeāand a column of light shot down from the heavens, striking her sword. The forest lit up as Moonfire erupted from her body, burning bright and white, pure and unstoppable.
The Crimson Watcher stumbled back, shielding his face. "Impossibleā¦"
Juvia stepped forward, no longer the unsure girl she had been. Her voice echoed with an ancient power. "I am the Moon's Flame. And I do not kneel."
She swung her bladeāand the energy that followed tore through the ground, striking the Watcher with a blinding explosion. Ha-jun and Luna ducked behind a rock as the force shattered the forest floor, sending shockwaves across the mountains.
When the dust cleared, the Watcher was gone. Not destroyedābut wounded. Fled.
Ha-jun rushed to Juvia, catching her as she collapsed. The light in her eyes dimmed, exhaustion overtaking her. "You did it," he whispered.
But Luna stared at the sky, where the moon pulsed faintly. "No⦠this was only the beginning. He'll return stronger. And next time⦠we might not survive."
Ha-jun looked down at Juvia, still glowing faintly in his arms. "Then we make her ready."
