In a house in the outer area of bones borough, Raine Whispers was clutching at his chest, 'Why Eda, why wont you just be honest with me?' thought Raine, feeling heartbroken. He had been feeling weird for the past week, feeling more emotion than he normally felt, was nauseous every day, and for some reason craving non-fermented apple blood and would drool at small animals for some reason. These weird feelings gave way to desperation as Raine sought the comfort of Eda, but has been having this nagging feeling that she didn't feel the same, like her priorities weren't him, normally he wouldn't feel bad about it considering he knew about her curse and has always been supportive, when when he was pushed away. Recently however, his mind wasn't straight and developed anxiety for their relationship.
Raine summoned his scroll, 'Hi Eda, can we talk, the usual place' texted Raine who sat on a couch, he had been feeling weird, really weird and wanted the comfort of someone he could trust. He waited a bit before he got a notification from his scroll, 'Sorry Rainstorm, maybe tomorrow, been busy' was all he got as he took a deep sigh. He couldn't describe the way he had been feeling, it was sickening and really was taking a toll on him. "Eda Please" said Raine almost Pleadingly as he sent another text, 'I've been feeling strange recently, I want to talk to you' replied Rain. He walked to his fridge and grabbed a tub of Ice scream, a frozen treat that literally screamed when you eat it, he normally wouldn't eat this stuff but has been craving it almost every day now, he also poured a glass of apple blood and sat on the couch, eating huge spoonful's and taking a gulp of apple blood every now and then.
Almost an hour had passed and still no reply from Eda, Raine started scratching his head a bit too intensely at this, "Ok, I need to calm down" as he forced himself to stop and pulled out his crystal ball, he scrolled through hextube, he saw local news videos and instruction on magic, but he wasn't interested on those, until he found a video on a documentary on birds and played it. It helped as he tuned out the words of a reporter who looked an awful lot like a gryphon, and listened to the background noise, it was a cacophony of different bird sounds, even a creepy smiling owl who let out an ominous cry of laughter as it flew by the speaker while remaining eye contact. As time passed listening to the sounds of birds, Rain only checked his scroll less and less as he drifted to sleep, the sound of birds was oddly comforting, which wasn't the same before. Not taking the effort to head to bed will make him pay dearly the next day.
*The Next Day*
Raine woke up with an aching back and massive headache, not sure if it was the absurd amount of sugar or sleeping on the couch, he let out a groan as he got up to do his morning routine. He opted to using a much more cushiony pair of slippers instead of his usual sandals, another weird thing that happened recently due to his sore feet. As he was brushing his teeth, he got a notification from his scroll that floated to him from his living room table. 'Hey Rainstorm, I can meet in two hours, not for long though' texted Eda. Raine wasn't really sure how he felt, he hadn't gotten a reply until now and for some reason nagged at him, he got ready and summoned his palisman, a small red fox who went into its staff form, he went out of his house and started his flight.
Raine zoomed off from his house, but patted at his palisman, "Fiddlestick, can you slow down a bit please" asked Raine as he got a mental confirmation from his palisman who slowed down to its owners wishes, it took 30 minutes of flying to get to his and Eda's favorite spot, extremely slow in his opinion as he got off Fiddlestick who reverted to a small red fox who cuddled against Rain as he laid down on the grassy hill. He was about an hour early to the agreed meeting time, as he relaxed, he couldn't help but notice how Fiddlestick was paying much more attention to his abdomen compared to its usual laid back nature. "Fiddlestick, is something the matter" inquired Rain to which his Palisman gave him a brief glance before shaking it head. As Raine patiently waited, he eventually took a nap, another weird thing was that he was more tired lately.
Time passed, and unbeknownst to Rain, Eda swooped in on owlbert and jumped off as Owlbert reverted to his owl form and prompted to Fiddlestick to go play, as he flew off with the chasing fox Palisman, Eda laid down next to Rain and nudged him a couple times. "Huh" exclaimed Raine who was groggy, "Man Rainstorm, you've been staying up late?" asked Eda casually. "Yeah, the past week has been weird, thanks for agreeing to meet me Eda" said Raine as Eda started scratching her arm. Raine noticed but decided to put it at the back of his mind. "Eda, I've been wanting to talk to you, you've been... You've been distant lately, is everything okay?" asked Raine. "Everything's fine Rainstorm, nothing to worry about" as she again started scratching her arms. "Eda, please be honest with me, the way you seem to try and distance yourself, its been really worrying me" said Rain to whom which Eda responded quickly, almost anxious, "Like I said, everything's fine".
"Eda, please-" said Raine who was interrupted, "Hey, look at that cloud, it looks like a-" said Eda who was also interrupted. "Eda, its your curse isn't it, you're not alone and I know its been hard for you but please let me help" said Rain who finally got Eda to look him in the eyes. Eda was silent for a minute, which got a look of concern from Raine as Eda started scratching the back of her head. This brought back the anxiety Raine was feeling from the previous day, 'Eda please don't push me way' thought Raine as Eda stood up. Eda looked at the playing palisman, "Raine, I'm fine", the familiar feeling of anxiety that was nagging at Raine started to explode in his mind, making him irritated for some reason. "Look, I'm doing fine on my own, the curse isn't that bad" said Eda as Raine watched a feather pop out of the side of her neck. "Eda please, I can't keep doing this if you wont be honest with me" said Raine who was getting agitated. Fiddlestick stopped playing as she and Owlbert looked at their owners with a look of concern. More feathers popped out on Edas arms and neck as she continued looking away, "Look, Raine, everything fi-" "It's not fine Eda, you have been avoiding me and its obvious that you're hiding stuff from me!" exclaimed Raine who also stood up, clutching at his stomach. He wasn't sure why he let out an outburst like that, unbeknownst to him Eda's Eyes turned black. "Eda, I can't keep doing this, let me help" said Raine as Eda called Owlbert to her. Suddenly, Eda took flight and zoomed off, Raine called Fiddlestick and tried to catch up but couldn't, a tear went down his face as the love of his life flew farther and farther away. Raine flew back home, even slower than earlier, and immediately went to bed.
*Eda*
"Why did I do that, I should've told him" exclaimed Eda who flew off crying, Owlbert gave a hoot, prompting Eda to take out an elixir, she's been running low on snails and her supply of elixirs were running out. The passed few days she's been trying to collect the ingredients herself but without the greenhouses of the Plant Coven, getting the ingredients were hard due to her slowly diminishing magic. In her flight, she hadn't noticed that she left the boiling Isles and was flying over the boiling sea, then the boiling Rain happened, "Aw drats" exclaimed Eda who drew up a barrier around herself. Owlbert started hooting in a panic, Eda was in big trouble, due to earlier her curse just had to spring forth and now she was desperately flying through the rain, hoping to find shelter somewhere to conserve her already diminishing magic. Over two hours was spent flying and downing almost every single elixir she had, Thankfully, the Titan seemed to have noticed her troubles as she saw an island with a big spiraling tower in the middle, she rushed towards it and hopped off Owlbert as the foliage was too dense as she made a dash for the entrance.
*Author Note: I've recently watched the Owl house and Amphibia, and decided to write a fanfic about it, it has been nagging at my mind and I had all kinds of ideas and decided on trying out a crossover. The main purpose of this novel is to practice my writing skills as well as to try and explore more on the Magic as well as the Boiling isles itself, I will try to avoid copying as much canon as possible and try to make this a more original take on the Owl House and Amphibia. P.S. we wont actually getting much on Amphibia until OC actually interacts with Luz*
