Seeing Sherlock and Harry, foodie Ron and Dean Thomas immediately stood up and waved vigorously towards them.

"Sherlock. Harry. Over here. Over here."

As the two walked over, Ron said proudly, "I saved you seats."

"Thanks." Harry thanked Ron, adding a reminder, "It would be better if you could keep your voice down a bit."

Because of Ron's loudness, combined with the name "Harry", Sherlock and Harry instantly became the center of attention in the hall.

"Over there. Look quickly."

"Where. Where?"

"Over there. Next to that tall boy with the hooked nose."

"You mean the one with glasses?"

"Yes. Did you see his face?"

"Did you see his scar?"

These whispers persisted as Sherlock and Harry crossed the Great Hall to reach Ron.

This made Harry extremely uncomfortable.

Ron clearly noticed the situation too, rubbing his nose sheepishly. "Sorry."

It was all my fault for being too loud.

A regular breakfast was certainly not as lavish as the opening feast, but it was definitely not bad. Most importantly – there was plenty to fill everyone up.

This was undoubtedly a good thing for foodies like Ron and for Harry, who had never been allowed to eat his fill at home.

As for Sherlock, multitasking, he ate while focusing his attention on the Gryffindor first-year timetable.

Monday AM: History of Magic, PM: Herbology

Tuesday AM: Herbology, PM: Charms, Transfiguration

Wednesday AM: Defence Against the Dark Arts, PM: Herbology, Evening: Astronomy

Thursday AM: Transfiguration, PM: Charms

Friday AM: Potions (double period), PM: Free

There was also a note: Once Flying lessons begin, they will be added after Charms on Thursday afternoon.

It was clear that the first-year schedule was quite packed – understandable, given the need to reshape the worldview of young wizards just entering the magical world.

After eating, the group hurried off to their classroom.

For Sherlock, the first week at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was both fulfilling and interesting.

Each course had its own distinct characteristics.

History of Magic was the only course taught by a ghost.

As the saying goes, a ghost's lecture is full of... well, ghostly tales (or perhaps just nonsense). It was already a purely theoretical course leaning heavily on rote memorization. Coupled with Professor Binns reciting from the textbook in his uniquely monotonous ghostly voice, the class became even more tedious and dull.

Almost all students merely jotted down names and dates haphazardly while drifting in and out of sleep.

There were only two exceptions.

One was Hermione. In the very first lesson, she had already begun showing the traits of an academic ace.

Attentive listening, meticulous note-taking, eager to answer questions... well, not the last one, as Professor Binns didn't ask any.

The other was Sherlock.

He was immensely interested in the magical world.

He had already read all the textbooks; listening to the ghost professor was akin to someone who didn't want to read activating an audiobook function.

However, when a student took the initiative to ask a question, Professor Binns would still interact.

Sherlock happened to be that person.

This made him stand out conspicuously among the drowsy little lions.

Even Hermione, who was also listening attentively, couldn't help but frequently cast curious glances his way.

This person... is just like me!

Compared to History of Magic, Herbology was much more interesting.

Being scheduled three times a week was enough to indicate its foundational importance.

The course was taught by Pomona Sprout, a short, stout witch who was also the Head of Hufflepuff House.

Classes were held in the greenhouses behind the castle, not indoors.

The content involved teaching the first years how to cultivate strange plants and fungi and understand their uses.

This time, the students actively asking questions included Hermione in addition to Sherlock.

Perhaps spurred by Sherlock's performance in History of Magic that morning, Hermione even lingered around Professor Sprout after class.

Unfortunately, Professor Sprout had other classes to teach, so those questions had to wait until the next day.

By the next morning's class, Hermione remained the eager-to-learn student.

Her consistently excellent performance over the two lessons even earned Gryffindor five points, receiving a round of applause.

But Sherlock wasn't as active as the previous day.

He merely completed Professor Sprout's tasks methodically, without asking a single further question.

Because Sherlock felt it was no longer necessary.

Having read the textbook beforehand, combined with the inquiries during the first lesson, was sufficient for him to form his own unique understanding of the subject.

That was enough.

Subsequently, Sherlock approached every course with the same strategy.

Ask questions in the first lesson to grasp the course's direction and overall scope, then filter.

For courses less useful to him, ensuring he could pass the exams was sufficient.

He would then free up his energy to focus on courses that were more useful or interesting to him.

Soon, such a course arrived.

Charms.

"Hermione Granger."

"Sherlock Holmes."

"..."

"Harry Potter – ah!"

The Charms professor was Filius Flitwick, who was also the Head of Ravenclaw House.

Professor Flitwick had goblin ancestry, making him incredibly short – Sherlock estimated him to be less than 4 feet tall, just over a meter.

During class, he had to stand on a pile of books just to reach the lectern.

As was customary, he took roll call during the first lesson. It went normally until he reached Harry Potter's name. He let out an excited squeak and tumbled out of sight.

This once again showed Sherlock the impact of the name "Harry Potter" in the wizarding world – even a Head of House at Hogwarts wasn't immune.

It also reaffirmed that his decision to form a 'pairing assistance' with Harry before school started was an incredibly correct choice.

Before school even began, Malfoy and his cronies from Slytherin had delivered themselves to his doorstep.

After school started, the attention Harry received from students and staff naturally didn't escape Sherlock's notice, significantly speeding up his understanding of the magical world.

Simultaneously, Sherlock unexpectedly discovered that Harry had the potential to be a good assistant.

This gradually led him to abandon the idea of treating Harry merely as a tool, beginning to view him as a potential friend.

Of course, that was a later development, to be set aside for now.

Professor Flitwick had strong self-regulation skills. It didn't take long for him to regain his composure and begin teaching.

The content of the first lesson was similar to other courses, providing a general overview of the subject.

He also taught a basic charm – the Repairing Charm.

It was the very spell Sherlock had used on Harry's glasses aboard the Hogwarts Express.
