Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 – Wish

The morning sunlight crept through the blinds, splashing soft gold across Jean's room. He blinked slowly, unwilling to leave the warmth of the covers until—

+10 to All Stats ×10 Multiplier = +100 All Stats

Congratulations, you're now a step closer to not embarrassing us both.>

Jean groaned, burying his face into the pillow. "Can I just sleep for once without your motivational harassment?"

He rolled out of bed with a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. The daily system grind was beginning to feel more like a sarcastic life coach than an overpowered gift. After a quick shower, five sharp punches into the training dummy, and a few push-ups to meet system quota, he walked to the hall to eat breakfast —just in time to bump shoulders with Rachel.

"You're up late," she muttered.

"You're up early."

"Weird dreams. Yours?"

"System bullying."

She raised a brow. "Still not over that imaginary friend phase, huh?"

Jean smirked. "You should meet him. He's charming."

...Actually, tell her nothing. She might punch me.>

*At least you know.* Jean chuckled.

After a light breakfast —and a fun conversation with his parents.

He finally left for school.

Greenfield Academy's gates loomed once again as Jean approached with his usual measured steps. Only this time, he wasn't invisible anymore. A few students gave him nods. One offered a fist bump. Marcus, of course, ran up like a hyperactive golden retriever.

"Bro! Guess what?" Marcus whispered dramatically. "You know Mira from Class 2-A?"

Jean stared at him weiredly. "Yeah. Why?"

"Isn't she a cutie." Marcus said. His eyes unfocused, clearly day dreaming.

Jean inwardly nodded. *You can say that again.*

Coming out of his stupor "O right, I need to copy your homework. I forgot to do mine." Marcus said with a cheeky smile.

Jean looked at him like a fool. Like seriously, dude, what were you doing all night. Reading porn.

"No!" Jean replied bluntly.

"Why!" Marcus exclaimed

Placing his hands on Marcus shoulder– looking into his eyes. Marcus looking at him with puppy eyes.

"Still no." Jean said and walked away.

Marcus there staring blankly for while. But snapping back to reality.

"Hey! Jean wait"

Jean sighed. "Why do I have weirdos all around me?"

Adrian said sarcastically.

Jean smiled coldly. *No one asked you f***er.*

Lunchtime brought little peace. Jean, Marcus, Hana, and Luis gathered at their usual corner table in the cafeteria. Between bites of high-class meat, Jean couldn't help but observe his surroundings more carefully.

That boy three tables down? His spoon bent mid-air, without his hand even moving. The girl by the vending machine? Her reflection blinked after she turned away. It was subtle. Precise. Supernatural.

Okay. Cool.

*This school's crawling with them. Seriously.*

"You look like you're trying to solve a murder mystery," Luis noted, biting into a sandwich.

"Maybe I am," Jean muttered.

"Nice," Luis replied. "Let me know if you need help hiding a body."

Marcus looked mildly alarmed.

---

Later that afternoon…

The final bell rang. Students scattered. Jean walked toward the gates. A black royce waiting for him, and as always Rachel is there waiting.

Jean paused.

"Sigh. Feel good to be on the other side of life." Jean smiled contentedly.

Adrian said absent mindedly.

*Sucks to be you*

Chuckle~

---

That Night…

The sky was painted in violet hues as Jean lay on his bed, headphones on, staring up at the white ceiling above.

"Another weird day."

His fingers swiped across the air as the System interface blinked open.

Jean closed the system window with a quiet sigh.

"Just one normal week. That's all I ask."

He smirked faintly as he turned onto his side, eyes slowly drifting shut.

Tomorrow is going to be the same as always— but maybe, just maybe it might be different.

I wish it could. Cause I'm bored.
