Chapter 16 - Lost in Austrian.

Season 1-Farmland.

Previous Chapter:

Cashew (in his mind): I have to write all of this down. I've gathered so much information.

Cashew: I'm sure… this is no longer the same world as Cryverra.

Remi (weak voice): Cashew Wayne. Cool name.

S (in his mind): Cashew. What exactly have you seen out there…

"Four days after the raid on Farmland village. Everything destroyed has been rebuilt. The victims have been buried with honor."

"Mr. Franz's house, 3 AM, under a pitch-black sky. Cashew writes an important note for his friends."

Cashew: Finally, I've finished this note.

Cashew: I hope it'll be useful.

Cashew: I'll tell them about it when they wake up later.

Cashew's Note:

I found something truly shocking, when I went looking for Mr. Franz with Viktor.

Viktor explained to me that there's a civilization much greater than just a village.

He told me about three levels of civilization.

The first one is Village. This is what we've always thought the entire world was. Just a simple village.

The second, City. This place is far bigger than a village. When I arrived there with Viktor, I was stunned by the crowds and all kinds of merchants. I even saw tall buildings, something we almost never see—

The third, State. This is much larger than a city. A state contains many cities and villages. Viktor told me that a single state could have dozens of cities inside it.

The fourth one, Central Nation. This is the largest civilization of them all. It's far beyond what we've ever imagined. The central nation contains many states, dozens of cities, and hundreds of villages.

Regions Viktor told me about:

Austria. Viktor said Austria is a Central Nation. The core that contains states, cities, and villages—including Farmland.

Steiermark. This is one of Austria's states. It's smaller than Austria itself.

Graz. This is the name of the city where Viktor and I found Mr. Franz. Clearly, Graz is way bigger than Farmland.

Scotland. I don't know if it's a state or a central nation. I don't even know where it is. What shocked me was finding out that Franz came from Scotland, not Farmland. He called it "the Western Country."

And then, Money. I didn't expect that people here buy things or hire someone's service using just a piece of paper and small round metal coins. Viktor told me that bartering is no longer used here.

I'm sure of it. We're no longer in Cryverra. We've teleported into an entirely different dimension.

Cashew: I'm sure they'll be shocked once they know this.

Cashew: For now… I should get some rest.

7:30 AM, at Franz's House

Tiber (waking up): Huffft… The air feels amazing. I slept so well.

Tiber: Guys, wake up. It's morning.

S (yawning): Looks like I can finally walk normally again.

S: Remi, wake up.

Remi (opening his eyes slowly): I'm still sleepy…

Franz (from behind): Everyone, I have something to tell you.

Tiber: What is it?

Franz: Today, you don't need to work in the garden. You may rest at home.

Franz: I'll help the villagers rebuild the burnt-down homes. Let your sleeping friends know.

Tiber: Thank you, Mr. Franz! I'll tell them right away! (cheerful tone)

Franz: I'm off now. Take good care of the house.

S & Tiber: Yes, Mr. Franz. Leave it to us!

Lucien: Guess I'm lucky today… I won't have to see Viktor's face for a whole day. (speaking while lying down)

Remi: Cashew… wake up. Let's find something for breakfast.

Emrik: Good morning, everyone.

Cashew (weak voice): Mr. Franz isn't home?

S: Nope. He left to help the villagers.

Cashew: Wake everyone up! I have something really important to tell you.

Remi: What is it?

Cashew: Just wake them first. All of you need to hear this.

S: I'll go wake them.

After everyone's awake…

Siro: Cashew. We're all here. What's the important thing you wanted to say?

Cashew: Read the note I wrote.

Remi: What's in it?

Cashew: You'll be surprised once you read it.

S (taking the note from Cashew): Let me read it out loud.

S reads the entire note Cashew wrote, explaining a world far beyond anything they've ever known.

A few minutes after S finishes reading:

Cashew: So? You've read it now. What do you think?

S: I'm… speechless.

Remi (anxious tone): W-where are we, really…?

Dario (sipping milk): I really didn't expect this…

Dario: I thought we just teleported to another part of Cryverra.

Lucien (shocked face): Central Nations. States. Cities. Money…

Lucien: We've been… so far behind…

Remi (soft voice): Who… are we, really?

Siro: Remi? What do you mean?

Remi (looking away): Nothing. Never mind.

Siro: You're talking strange again.

S: We're… really far from home now, huh?

Cashew: Seems like it.

Cashew: I've seen the outside world with my own eyes.

S (pausing to think): Cashew. Do you still have that book with the strange code—the one from the library?

Cashew: Of course. I can summon it any time.

S: Summon it. Right now.

S: I've been thinking about this for a while. But damn it, I kept forgetting.

Cashew: A-alright.

Cashew: (summon object)

Cashew: Here it is… the book.

Lucien: S, what are you trying to do?

S: I'm going to solve the code we saw in this book.

Cashew: 6-1-18-13-12-1-14-4

Cashew: That's the code. Are you going to decode the "3100 years" thing too?

S: Forget the 3100-year history for now.

S: I'm cracking this cursed code first.

Emrik: How?

S: Alphabet positions. Like this:

1 is A 2 is B 3 is C … 26 is Z

S: All I have to do is match and arrange them. The result is…

6 = F

1 = A

18 = R

13 = M

12 = L

1 = A

14 = N

4 = D

That gives us… Farmland. -S.

Everyone was stunned. The code they found back in Cryverra turned out to be the name of the very village they now live in.

Dario (shocked tone): N-no way…

Dario: W-why… why was that code the name of this village?

Remi (frozen in silence)

S: Ever since we landed here, I had a strange feeling about that book's code.

Lucien (nervous voice): S-so… what do we do now?

Cashew: There's no other choice. We have to survive here while gathering more information.

Cashew: Don't worry about how to get back yet. That'll be easy—as long as we still have Cryport.

S: Don't forget our true goal. To uncover the truth, and bring peace back to Cryverra.

Remi: B-but… my only goal is to avenge my mother's death.

Siri: Remi. Are you okay?

Remi: Are they even our enemies…? Or our allies?

Remi: Why do we keep fighting beside them?

Emrik: Calm yourself.

Remi (sighs): I just hope we're not walking the wrong path.

Tiber: S, what should we do now?

S: Exactly what Cashew said.

S: That's all we can do, for now.

S: One more thing. We need to find out… how Siro's grandfather got the coordinates that led us here!

Siro (startled): W-what…

Dario: Damn… we almost forgot the very thing that brought us here.

S: Stay calm as usual, and keep adapting for now.

S: Keep reporting anything new you discover.

Tiber: Right. If we look panicked, they'll suspect us.

Siro: My grandfather…

Siro: Where did he get those coordinates? He never came back home after giving them to me…

Lucien: We can't make assumptions right now. We need to stay patient and piece together every clue we find.

S: Stay strong, and don't give up no matter what. Remember—we are Cryverran!

Remi: Guys, let's go out and find something to do.

Dario: Like what?

Remi: Anything. I'm not feeling right.

S: Then let's go.

Cashew: I think I'll go fish by the river.

S: Hey, I'm really curious… just how big was that city you saw yesterday?

Lucien: You're too curious.

S: Heyyy!

Siro (in his mind): Grandpa… what are you hiding from me?
