Chapter 10 - Cypher.exe Has Crashed

Location: Cypher's Safehouse – "The Cloud"

You'd think a genius hacker would hide somewhere high-tech.

Nope.

Cypher was holed up in an abandoned daycare with satellite dishes strapped to the roof and a Wi-Fi password so long it required a blood sacrifice to enter.

Inside, Cypher hunched over six glowing monitors, surrounded by servers, power drinks, and anime body pillows for emotional support.

"They hit my crew. They think they've won. But this is chess, not checkers."

He grinned, uploading MVL data onto a hidden darknet server.

"In ten minutes, the world knows everything."

Then...

BOOM.

The wall exploded behind him, drywall flying like confetti at a psychopath's birthday party.

Enter the MVL Death Parade

Selene walked through the smoke, sunglasses on even though it was midnight.

"Hey, nerd."

Lightning came in after her, dragging an entire satellite dish.

"You left this on the roof. Bad for signal. Worse for stealth."

Cypher froze. "No... No, how did you find—"

Silent Boy cartwheeled through the broken window holding a katana in his teeth and a sign that read:

"Your firewall was weaker than Lightning's knees."

The Young One came last, holding no weapons. He was the weapon.

The Last Hack

Cypher ran for his panic room.

Selene hit a button. The door locked… from the outside.

"You seriously used the same password as your anime streaming account?"

"No I didn't—wait, how did you know I watch—"

"You named the server 'WaifuCloud_9000.'"

Lightning snorted. "I respect that."

Cypher turned, pulling out a pistol. "You don't scare me. You're just criminals—"

BANG!

He fired.

Missed.

The Young One didn't miss.

He threw a blade into Cypher's hand — pinning it to the wall. The pistol clattered to the floor.

Cypher screamed. "You'll never get the files—"

Jade (who no one even knew was here yet) burst through the floor like a Taekwondo raccoon.

"Hello! I brought cookies and a reason to cry!"

She kicked Cypher across the room so hard he bounced.

Lightning whispered, "That was hot. Am I allowed to say that?"

The End of Cypher

Cypher was coughing blood now, crawling toward a USB drive glowing on the desk.

Silent Boy stabbed it with a screwdriver.

Selene pulled out a vial.

"What's that?" Cypher gasped.

"Liquid malware. For your brain."

"That's not real."

"It is now."

She threw it at the server.

FZZZZT. BOOM.

Every screen shattered. The files? Gone. Backups? Toast. Reputation? Deleted.

Cypher's lip trembled. "I… I was the future…"

The Young One walked up and spoke for the first time in hours:

"You were a footnote."

Then — no flair, no slow motion — he put a bullet through Cypher's head. Clean. Final.

Aftermath: Cookies and Fire

The team stood over the wreckage. Flames danced across the broken monitors.

Selene turned to Jade. "Where'd you come from?"

"Through the sewage tunnels. I followed the smell of failed potential."

Silent Boy held up a sign:

"Rest in pixels, loser."

Lightning took a bite of a cookie. "These are exploding cookies, right?"

BOOM.A tiny shockwave sent half the wall flying.

"Okay. That one was."

Selene dusted off her jacket.

"Blizzard will want the footage."

The Young One wiped his blade on Cypher's hoodie.

"He'll want more than that."

Meanwhile: Blizzard's Office

Blizzard watched it all live-streamed to his laptop. He sipped tea.

Cypher's dead body lay frozen on the screen.

Blizzard muttered:

"One problem down. A thousand more to go."

He looked to a sealed envelope on his desk labeled:

"Top Priority: Jade Wasn't Supposed to Find Us This Soon"

He smiled grimly.

"And now... she's planning a team-building retreat."
