Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Genetic Awakening

Nareth's whole body crackled with energy as it stretched and expanded at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In a single breath, the steel armor on his body burst apart, only barely able to cover his vital organs.

In an instant, his physique had grown to match that of a full-grown adult, only far stronger.

The transformation continued, and in Nareth's mind, information surged like a tsunami.

In the vast ocean of thought, the message of the "Barbarians" flowed like a river into the sea.

That surging ocean was the knowledge hidden in his genes, different from the last time.

This knowledge wasn't limited to the weaknesses of various races and machines; it now included combat techniques, the art of war, and even the crystallized wisdom of human civilization.

Nareth's body swelled like a balloon, constantly inflating.

When he opened his eyes, he noticed the furnace before him had shrunk.

'No!' It wasn't the furnace that had shrunk—I've become a giant!

The "Barbarian" has three extraordinary abilities, the core being "Physical Enhancement"—a superhuman's strength and powerful physique.

But as a Genetic Primogenitor, I differ from ordinary beings. The power of the "potion" activated the latent might within my genes. The fusion of these two forces completely transformed my body.

Even though it was catalyzed by the potion and the genes fully awakened, the core driving force of this metamorphosis came from the power hidden within the original body.

Nareth began organizing the new abilities granted by this enhancement.

The second extraordinary ability of the "Barbarian" is Spiritual Fortification, granting immense mental resilience.

Stacked with the psychic strengthening from awakening my Primogenitor genes, I now possess an unbreakable will and a mind as solid as stone.

The third extraordinary ability of the "Barbarian" is Lung Enhancement and the ability known as "Frenzied Howl."

"Frenzied Howl" involves taking a deep breath, using specially reinforced lung structures to amplify and transform the breath, then unleashing a deafening roar. The resulting ultrasonic wave stuns enemies and instills psychic terror.

'This ability wasn't in my memory. It likely has a close connection to the pulmonary sacs of the Lung Spiders.'

Only now did Nareth fully understand the evolution pursued by the Kingdom of Disorder.

After successfully escaping the seal on the western continent of Terra, the Source Essence brought him to the Warhammer World to gather rarer materials and concoct even stronger potions with extraordinary traits. Each sequence would be stronger than the last.

'Materials for high-sequence potions may include fragments of C'tan (Star Gods), only such ingredients can meet the requirements for the source essence to undergo its fundamental transformation.'

'And once I ascend to an Old One and integrate with the "Kingdom of Disorder," we'll complete the final evolution together.'

Having organized the Beyonder abilities of the "Barbarian," Nareth then turned to sorting out his genetic memories.

The Emperor created the Primogenitors as war machines. Thus, most of Nareth's inherited knowledge centered around warfare and military tactics. Arts and architecture were only small parts.

'Even so, it's enough to consider myself far beyond the average scholar across various disciplines.'

After processing everything, Nareth looked at his armor, now only covering his vital parts, and couldn't help but smile wryly.

'Well, there are downsides too. My armor has turned into a glorified loincloth.'

Nareth picked up a short-range radio and ordered the blacksmiths to prepare modular armor.

Then, from the Kingdom of Disorder, he took out moonstone and other materials to continue brewing the "Sleepless" potion.

One work cycle later, Nareth donned his new armor.

Calling it armor was generous; it was more like a mesh of Mittal Steel hastily cobbled together.

Given the urgency, no craftsman could create a full suit for a superhuman, let alone something that would allow a demigod's body to reach its full potential.

Nareth didn't mind. As long as it temporarily covered his body, it was fine.

A proper set of armor would have to wait until he returned to the Empire.

He summoned Bukayo to the control room and took the newly crafted "Sleepless" potion with him.

Outside the control room, Bukayo was already waiting respectfully, but when he saw the giant approaching, he was stunned.

His first thought was of the Ogryns they had encountered before. Instinctively, he gripped his weapon tighter.

But something was off. The giant before him was even taller than the tallest Ogryn, standing over four meters tall. In a corridor built for mortals, he had to duck his head to walk.

The boy looked up and saw the giant's unarmored neck. His skin wasn't rough like an Ogryn's, it glistened like jade.

More than that, the giant radiated a strange light, like the divine beings of the old myths, before the Tech Priests ever arrived.

Bukayo felt a mysterious force compelling him to kneel, to worship the god who had descended.

"Bukayo," said a voice like thunder. "Come inside with me."

The boy stared in shock as the god-like figure pushed open the control room door with one finger and bent down to enter. His mind thundered, and he murmured uncertainly:

"Boss…?"

"It's me," Nareth replied, settling into a barely comfortable standing position. "Come in."

Bukayo was full of questions.

'How did he become a giant in just one work period? Is he a god sent to save us from the cruel Hive City? He must be…'

A sudden jolt snapped Bukayo out of his thoughts. He quickly entered the control room, shut the door, and reverently bowed before Nareth.

"Boss… no… Divine One…"

Not knowing how to address him properly, Bukayo stammered—until the thunderous voice boomed again.

"I am not a god."

In this era, the Empire upheld the Imperial Truth. Since Bukayo was someone Nareth wanted to cultivate, he had to correct his thinking.

Bukayo paused, then searched his memory of his family library. After a few seconds, he tried:

"I pledge my loyalty to you. Should I call you… My Lord?"

"That will do."

Such titles were common for addressing genetic Primogenitors. It wouldn't cause trouble.

"This is your reward."

Nareth opened his massive hand. Bukayo walked over like a devout pilgrim and reverently accepted the metal cup.

"Drink it."

Without hesitation, Bukayo tilted his head back and drank the dark liquid.

He plunged into eternal darkness, terrified and helpless, seeing his own body below and a towering figure before him.

He met eyes deeper than the night itself, and a majestic voice echoed in his ears:

"Do as I say. In your consciousness, simulate a falling object…"

Under Nareth's guidance, Bukayo learned to meditate and awaken his spirit sight.

As a newly empowered extraordinary being, his faith deepened.

'Only a god could grant such power. The potion was merely the medium.'

Under Nareth's guidance, Bukayo learned meditation and spirit vision.

Having become a supernatural being, a Beyonder, his devotion only grew stronger.

'Only a god could grant such power. The potion was merely the medium.'

Thousands of elites followed behind Nareth, gazing at his mountain-like back with awe and reverence.

They felt a difference—before, they fought to survive. Now, they followed a divine mission.

They couldn't fully explain it. Their vocabulary was too lacking. But they could feel it.
