Tina's day started when the first rays of the sun hit the rock. She was woken up, and then she, along with other slaves, got to work. Some of them started clearing the rock, while some of them started chopping wood and breaking ores of rocks into smaller pieces. Everyone had their work cut out for them, and as usual, Joron was keeping an eye on all of them, making sure that they were working.
She was on cleaning duty that day. Martha, one of the oldest slaves of the trib,e was sweeping the floors with her.
"Did you talk to him?" Martha whispered, making sure no one could hear their conversation.
Tina simply shook her head, "Didnt get the chance."
Martha sighed, "Girl. You should get onto the horse before someone snags him away," She then stopped sweeping and made Tina look at her.
Martha then grabbed her crotch, "Use this. Many men had fallen for this. That is why I am a mother of four."
Doesn't change the fact that you are still a slave, she wanted to say. But refrained from doing so, as she knew that she would be barking at the wrong tree.
"It is because of my assets am I am able to live such a good life," Martha said. "You should try using yours as well."
Her words finally snapped Tina, "How can you say that!" she yelled in a very low tone, and in the native language of the Gorgon Kingdom. "You are a fucking slave Martha. Even though it gave this tribe two Vis Wielders, that doesn't change the fact that you are still a slave. You wear a fucking loin cloth. These people dont even have the dignity to give you proper clothes. And yet you seem to act as if this is the best life that you could ask for,"
Martha gave him a derailed look, "You young ones are always very troublesome to deal with… Take it from a veteran, dear, the life that you used to live is long gone. The life that you are going to live from now, is the one filled with pain and suffering. Make sure that you never forget that."
Tina didnt say anything, because she knew there was no point there.
Martha and most of the slaves of the tribe have given up on their lives. They live on this rock knowing well that they are going to die here as well. They will be slaves for the rest of their lives, no matter what they contribute here, no matter what they do. They will always be a slave. So they have become complacent over time. They have stopped hoping for miracles, as they know it ain't happening.
But Tina was not one of them. At least not yet.
She wanted her freedom again. She wanted revenge for her father's death. There are only a few things that she could do for the latter, but she could still try to regain her freedom.
But that ain't going to be easy.
In the 2 years that she had been a slave, she had tried to find out whatever she could about the Heks. Her knowledge prior to the abduction was only the fact that they were barbarians. Very skilled in combat in a jungle envoirment, and most of them are Vis Wielders, which is why Gorgon Kingdom's army is having such a hard time dealing with them.
Another reason the soldiers of her kingdom have a hard time against them is also because of the envoirment. Beyond the wall, Vis is found in very excessive quantities. Because of which, many Vis Wielding beasts are roaming in these lands. Vulcans have it good, as they are part of the land with very low Vis in the air. But that was not true for the rest of the tribes.
The other tribes thrive and have ample amounts of combat experience; the ample amount of Vis near their bases means that they can rise to levels that normal Vis wielders could only dream of.
"Oi," Olive, an old slave, broke her trail of thoughts. "Your prince charming is awake," she said with a big smile.
Tina looked at Martha, who gave her a wink. Tina stopped sweeping and made her way outside the forges. There, by one lonely corner of the rock, was a tent. And by the tent was the man that Tina was looking for, Adui, son of Imka.
Adui was different from Heks. He was strong, strange, and very curious about the world. She still remembers the day when they talked about the world, and he seemed very interested in knowing what was out there. But that doesn't change the fact that he was a barbarian like the others.
But currently, Tina needed the man.
When she came to Adui, she saw him doing what could only be described as weird poses by the tribe. He was doing a handstand, a perfect one at that. Most people cannot understand what he was trying to achieve, but she was not one of them. She knew that he was trying to make his body as flexible as he could, perfect for most of the situations that he might find himself in.
It is so weird. If this guy weren't brought up here, I would have surely put my money on him being from a civilized world. She thought.
She cleared her throat, and with a push, Adui stood up straight. "Tina," he said in a surprised tone.
Here goes nothing, she thought, and formed a big smile on her face. "Master Adui.. Tina. Wanted to talk."
Adui raised his eyebrow, "Speak,"
"Tina.. Having trouble." She said, "Trouble with elder. Trouble with other slaves. I not bear any child, they trouble me. Me thinking.. We can.." She acted as if she was blushing, "We can.. Tina bear baby of Master Adui,"
She felt disgusted. Offering her body like rags, but there was nothing that she could do. In order for her plan to work, she needed to be in good standing with Adui. She knew that he was smitten by her, Joron mentioned it. And that was the reason that he was not forceful at all that night as well.
"You want to bear my child?" he asked, looking amused, just as she predicted.
She nodded, "Tina very happy to serve."
He smiled back, "Tonight. Lets go on a walk," Then he went back to his exercises.
Tina didnt understand what Adui meant by walk, but she didnt mind. To her, the first phase of her plan was completed…
