On the training ground!
With a sharp blast of Holloway's whistle,
Vaughan took the kickoff and passed it sideways.
Then turned and sprinted upfield.
Crystal Palace's winger Ambrose received the ball, paused slightly, and passed it back to Kai.
On the sidelines, Holloway stood with arms folded, watching intently.
In this trial match, Kai was playing the No. 10 role —
The central playmaker!
The teammates on Kai's side were happy to pass him the ball.
Partly because it was his trial,
But also —
Clearly, it wasn't just Coach Holloway who wanted to "see what he's made of."
All the Crystal Palace players were eager to figure out:
What kind of player is this guy who came all the way from La Masia?
"If you think we're gonna play your fancy tiki-taka here, you're in the wrong place!"
"This is England! We don't have time to mess around with endless short passes!"
Up front,
James Vaughan kept glancing back to track Kai's movements.
Even though it was just a training match, his hunger to score was intense.
Why?
He'd been stuck in a goal drought in the league —
And for a striker once hailed as a Premier League prodigy,
That kind of dry spell was torture.
In the midfield,
As soon as Kai received the ball, several Palace players swarmed him for a tackle —
Up close, physical, bruising challenges.
True to the English style — rugged, relentless.
They deliberately targeted the Spaniard to test his grit.
But with his God's Eye View,
Kai ignored Vaughan's desperate calls for the ball up front.
He assessed the pressure and instantly decided the best way to handle it.
"Bang!"
He turned and shielded the ball, passing it back to the center-back behind him.
Then immediately pointed out a passing lane to the defender:
"Play it wide! I'll support from there!"
He sprinted toward the wing to receive again.
Meanwhile, the midfielder who had been pressing Kai now surged forward to press the defender —
Completely abandoning his mark on Kai.
The Palace defender receiving the pass looked momentarily unsure,
But obeyed and passed it toward the flank.
At the same time,
Another opponent who had been pressing Kai was also drawn to the wing.
On the sideline, fullback Fred controlled the ball.
Kai arrived just in time to support.
Fred barely did anything — just tapped it right back to him.
Now only one opponent remained pressing.
Kai and Fred pulled off a quick one-two pass.
That was it.
Two highly aggressive defenders, neutralized.
A textbook three-versus-two midfield combo.
Under Kai's direction, the high-pressure midfield pressing was completely dismantled.
Just minutes into the match, Kai was highly active —
With his God's Eye View and technical skills honed at La Masia,
These rugged English league players were simply easy to handle.
"He's covering a lot of ground in midfield!"
"He even helps organize passing for his teammates — you can see the structure forming!"
Coach Millen's eyes lit up.
A midfield orchestrator?
Just from that short sequence, Millen swore he saw a glimpse of Xavi.
Of course, that was a stretch —
Kai didn't quite have Xavi's technique or physicality.
But in terms of vision, with the God's Eye View, even Xavi couldn't compare!
Beside him, Holloway remained stern-faced:
"That's nothing special. For a La Masia kid, this is just basic stuff. What I want to see is how he runs the attack."
But just as he said that —
His eyes widened.
Kai, receiving the ball on the side of midfield, shaped up as if to dribble sideways.
Holloway assumed he'd stall in the midfield like most Spanish playmakers,
Dragging out the possession before slowly finding a forward pass.
But no.
Kai feinted, then suddenly scooped the ball from the underside with his instep —
And launched a stunning diagonal long pass!
God's Eye View — Vision MAXED OUT!
Pirlo-mode: Cruise Missile Activated!
From his all-seeing perspective,
Kai spotted a fleeting gap in the defense —
A chance that would vanish in seconds!
The ball followed an invisible golden trajectory,
Spinning with precision toward the front line —
Tearing through the back line like a hot knife through butter!
Up front, Vaughan was stunned!
This pass — it came right along his run!
It was as if the ball had locked onto his movement like radar!
Even though injuries had slowed him down, Vaughan was still a striker by instinct.
He took the ball effortlessly,
Charged into the box, and calmly slotted it in.
GOAL!
Crystal Palace's backup keeper, Oderson, stood frozen.
Just… what??
How did that pass even come through?
The other players were also dumbfounded.
A single long pass… and it was a goal??
After a brief silence —
Kai's teammates exploded with excitement!
Vaughan, eyes wide in disbelief, sprinted toward Kai:
"WTF! That pass was perfect!"
"Bro, THAT'S the feeling I've been missing!"
He was overjoyed.
The pass had come out of nowhere,
The curve was wicked,
A stroke of pure genius!
On the sideline, Holloway looked shocked.
Maybe he had misjudged Kai after all?
"This kid's got something. He's not just some La Masia show pony —
and he's definitely not your typical Spanish midfielder."
Millen nodded furiously:
"The moment I saw him, I knew he had it!
That pass to Vaughan? If I had received it, I could've scored too —
I mean, uh, no offense to Vaughan of course! He is our main striker!"
Holloway took a deep breath:
"Let's just hope that wasn't a fluke."
Without delay, Holloway blew the whistle again.
The training match continued —
And the Crystal Palace manager couldn't wait to see what else Kai could do.
