Chapter 2 - 2

Terminator World

With a movement both quick and surprisingly silent for his size, Marcus climbed carefully to the top of the factory and stepped onto the roof. Sunlight struck his helmet as wind carried dust and debris that collided against his armor.

"By the Emperor," Marcus murmured as he saw the sight before him - a city shattered by war, in ruins, covered in dust and ashes that symbolized the terrible conflict that had occurred there.

Though worse scenes existed in his memories, he still felt bitterness in his mouth when thinking about the fate of the humans who had once lived there. "An apocalyptic world. The question now is - which one?" He murmured, and at that moment, his helmet picked up the sound of gunfire.

Something resembling a minigun firing continuously a few streets away. Without hesitation, Marcus jumped from the factory roof and landed on the concrete ground, cracking it. He immediately grabbed his grav-hammer and began running toward the gunfire.

The ground cracked as he ran at maximum speed, reaching 80 kilometers per hour in mere seconds. The streets became mere blurs until he saw a robot with a machine gun in one of its arms, firing continuously at two people hiding behind a truck.

"Prepare to be purged, you metal abomination!" Marcus shouted, his voice amplified by his helmet echoing loudly on the street, drawing the machine's attention as it turned its head to look at the three-meter-tall giant running toward it with a large hammer pulsing with energy.

The machine's last sight was Marcus swinging the hammer toward it.

BAM!

As if made of paper, the Terminator's upper half was torn off and shattered in a single blow, leaving the torso and legs motionless, sparking. Marcos and Kyle Reese, who were behind the bus, stared incredulously at what had just happened.

"Is he your friend?" Marcos, who had just been rescued by Kyle, asked curiously. The boy shook his head frantically. "Run!" He shouted, and the two took off running, confusing Marcus and making him pause for a second in doubt before falling into contemplation.

"I would be scared too in my past life if a metal giant carrying a hammer appeared and destroyed a robot like it was a toy." Understanding what had happened, he decided to be somewhat gentle.

Without chasing them, Marcus watched them flee and enter a factory building. Taking care not to scare them, he approached the entrance and looked inside through the windows. At that moment, he heard the sound of ropes being released and a large piece of metal fell toward his head.

Bam!

An impact sound was heard, and a head appeared from the top of the factory. "Did we get him?" Kyle asked Marcos as he also approached the edge of the factory and looked down. The next instant, both felt a slight chill seeing the giant holding the large metal block with one hand and staring coldly at them.

Tossing the metal block aside, Marcus slightly bent his legs and jumped, startling the two and making them step back. The next second, Marcus was on the roof.

The ground shook and small cracks appeared in the concrete. "Identify yourselves," Marcus said, observing the figures on the roof - a child, a teenager, and a man. The boy immediately pointed a shotgun at Marcus, who didn't bother intimidating them.

From his own understanding, he already had an idea of what world this was but wanted to hear confirmation from the individuals before him. There was a long moment of silence before Kyle spoke first.

"Are you with the Resistance?" He asked curiously. Marcus looked at him before removing his helmet, revealing his pale face and red eyes, making the trio take a step back. "I'm not part of this so-called Resistance. I am an envoy of the Emperor of Mankind sent to reclaim this world from the machines," Marcus said. Another moment of silence followed before Kyle lowered his weapon.

"My name is Kyle Reese."

"Marcos Wright."

"My name is Marcus Primaris," Marcus introduced himself after the two men. But before they could continue talking, Marcus's helmet picked up the sound of something approaching. He put his helmet back on. "Get down, something's coming," he said, and the three threw themselves to the ground.

Soon, a fighter approached through the streets quickly, making a lot of noise as it headed toward where the Terminator had been destroyed. "Hide fast! That's a machine fighter ship - it comes equipped with powerful weapons!" Kyle said, but Marcus ignored him and coldly watched the mechanical fighter approach.

When it reached the previous location and began analyzing the surroundings, Marcus didn't hesitate. He leaped into the air with his grav-hammer and descended toward the fighter at full speed. The machine, not expecting a human attack of this kind, tried in vain to maneuver its weapons toward Marcus, but this proved to be a mistake.

BOOM!

Before the machine guns could lock onto Marcus's position, his strike landed like an earthquake, causing the craft to tilt downward as half of it split apart from the hammer's powerful impact.

Flames began pouring from the fighter, and before it exploded, Marcus jumped away, landing at a distance. Behind him, the fighter crashed to the ground and exploded with a thunderous roar, sending a pillar of fire and dust visible across the city.

The trio of humans stared at the scene with wide eyes, unable to comprehend how a single swing from a giant hammer could take down a heavily armored fighter craft - their logic and common sense shattered by the sight.

With large strides, the giant soon approached them again. "More are coming. I need to meet with the leader of this world's humans. Can you take me to him?" he asked politely.
