Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Having said that, sweat beads rolled down the Principal's forehead.

Struck by an idea, Ethan spoke: "Principal, I think I'll heed the advice you gave earlier and choose a school!"

Just as his voice faded, boom!

Instantly, the four recruitment bigwigs released an oppressive aura.

Bang!

The chair underneath the Principal exploded, sending him sprawling on the floor.

Exasperated, the Principal muttered: "Damn..."

"Ethan, you little rascal, what advice did I ever give you?!"

Scrambling up from the floor and swearing profusely, the Principal was aghast.

Usually, it's him tricking the students, but today he was the one tricked by a student!

Meanwhile.

A smoking hot woman with a catwalk strut crossed the threshold of the main entrance.

She wore a blood-stained short breastplate, revealing her smooth, flat belly. Her purple hair floated freely in the wind, her eyes gleaming seductively with an eerie purple light.

The most striking feature was the nearly two-meter-long giant sword on her back—it was a walking weapon of mass destruction.

Several security guards wanted to stop her, only to find their legs failing them after a single look from her, nearly wetting themselves in fear.

"Come, let me take you to a secluded place where you can appreciate just how powerful my powers are." On the side of the playing field, Leo gave a sleazy smile to two junior students, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent.

"Is this true, senior?"

One junior girl asked, her eyes filled with stars as she looked at Leo, her face full of anticipation.

"Could it be false?"

Leo gave a winning smirk.

"Let's go then!"

With a sweep of his hand, the two junior girls nodded enthusiastically, almost as if pecking like chicks.

Leo was thrilled inside and took the opportunity to wrap his arms around their shoulders.

"Heh heh, tonight's going to be quite interesting...Huh?"

Before he could finish speaking, Leo suddenly felt a lightness in his body and found himself soaring into the air. With a "snap," a slender yet powerful hand tightly gripped Leo's neck, lifting him high above the ground as if raising a small chick.

"Where is that S-rank student from your school?"

A cold voice asked.

Terrified to his core, Leo stuttered in reply, "In...in the Principal's office!"

Although the purple-haired woman was quite attractive, her blood-spattered breastplate and the murderous aura emanating from her entire body made Leo dare not even look at her again.

Meanwhile, inside the Principal's office.

"I've made up my mind," Ethan stood in the middle of the office, staring steadfastly at the Principal, "I want to go to the university that the S-rank senior from Sterling High used to attend!"

Upon hearing this, the four special recruitment envoys instantly released their powerful auras, causing the principal to be pressured to the point of inaction on the ground.

"Ethan, Glimmerbrook University isn't bad at all! You could get more resources there!"

"Exactly, Ethan, that place isn't suitable for a promising student like you!"

"One-third of the freshmen fail there every year!"

"Hey, Ethan, are you really not coming to Southern Reach Academy?" The four recruitment envoys tried to persuade him earnestly.

What the heck? I have no clue where this place is!

Suddenly, heavy footsteps sounded from outside. Crack!

At that instant, the four recruiters hushed, their faces turning solemn.

A voluptuous, purple-haired woman with a daunting aura strode in unreservedly.

She simply ignored the four recruiters and walked straight to Ethan.

The delicate face stained with blood leaned close to Ethan, sizing him up meticulously.

A few seconds later, the purple-haired woman flashed a smirk.

"Your gene is acceptable. From today onwards, you are a student of my Apex Academy."

With that, she pulled out a still warm paper from her breastplate.

"Sign your name."

"Apex Academy? What's that?"

Ethan was utterly bemused, having never heard of this school. The Principal, witnessing Ethan's reaction, was on the verge of spitting blood!

The boy had no idea about the Apex Academy at all!

And it caused him to be blamed for nothing!

At this moment, the reactions of the four recruiters made everything clear.

"Hey, Valeria Thorne, you're really taking us for granted with your actions, aren't you!?"

Marcus chimed in, "You have to consider the order of things. The higher-ups wouldn't approve of your domineering manners at Apex Academy."

Professor Allen also joined in, "Exactly, exactly!"

Valeria Thorne glanced at the three of them, coldly retorting, "Why, itching for a thrashing?" The three became red-faced and thick-necked, but dared not utter a word.

Ethan was secretly taken aback, these three were actually left speechless!

Gentle Seraphina tried to ease the tension, "Sister Valeria, we should still ask for Ethan's opinion..."

"Shut up, don't force me to slap you."

Valeria Thorne cut her off directly.

Seraphina was stunned.

The sight made Ethan's eyes sparkle, thinking in his heart: Too domineering, I like that!

Without further ado, he picked up the contract that was still warm and fragrant, and rapidly signed his full name on it.

"Sister Valeria!" Ethan passed the contract over.

Valeria Thorne waved her hand, "You keep it, the school will contact you later."

Having said that, she turned on her heel and left, her slender waist swaying.

Inside the office, the faces of the four who had been berated didn't look too good.

Ethan sensed the awkward atmosphere and took his leave posthaste.

"Principal, thanks for your advice!" he shouted as he ran.

Watching Ethan's receding figure, the Principal felt like he had a belly full of fire with nowhere to vent, and couldn't help blurting out an expletive.

Principal: What the # %@* &

After leaving the Principal's office, Victor caught up with Ethan and urged him to rest well for a few days, as he would soon be heading to Apex Academy.

"Are we going so soon?"

Ethan was stunned.

Victor pushed up his glasses, and with a smile, he explained, "The Apex Academy has always maintained this pace. There will be a hardcore training for over a month before school starts, specifically for special recruited students like you."

Ethan nodded, then asked, "Teacher Victor, what exactly is Apex Academy? Why haven't I ever heard of it?"

"What? You chose it without even knowing?" Victor's eyes widened in surprise. Ethan shrugged indifferently.

"You really..."

Victor sighed helplessly, then began to explain:

"The Apex Academy was established by the Four Guardian Sentinels to train warriors who defend the Dominion Lands. Those who graduate there either become Warlords dominating regions or Generals leading thousands of troops."

Victor's expression turned solemn, "This does not mean that the Apex Academy has any special privileges. Those who can graduate from there do so based on their own meritorious combat deeds!"

"The Apex Academy is incredibly prestigious! Not only its students are fierce like tigers, but the admission process is also quite strict. All types of elites from the military and the province's are fighting to get in, and the test takers who wish to enroll? Don't even think about it, unless the school takes a liking to you."

After hearing Victor's words, Ethan was itching with excitement, and his admiration for the Apex Academy grew exponentially.

This is fantastic!

Such a prestigious school was a perfect match for his S-Class Black Steel Battle Body gene!

After returning home, Ethan glances at the balance of his mobile phone, with four million in his account, he couldn't help but sigh: "In this world, the hard fist equates to a bulging wallet!"

Logging into a special online shopping platform, without a word, Ethan spent several hundred thousand to buy a set of armor.

As for weapons, he hasn't decided yet. "Let me first test how powerful my gene is."

Ethan strolled into the courtyard. A few unique wood poles and large stone weights—all his usual workout material.

Before awakening his gene, he used to sweat bullets here daily.

Nowadays, humans on Earth are evolving rapidly.

But the wild animals and even plants out in the wilderness are also going through insane evolutions.

Not to mention the beasts that constantly emerge from the underground caves, each scarier than the other.

If it weren't for the few brave people who guard these caves day after day, humanity would have been wiped out long ago.

Ethan's parents perished in one such monster tide.

Thank goodness the Dominion Alliance did not mistreat these orphans.

Not only were they provided free education, but they also received a living allowance each month.

Ethan's life was decent enough.

Taking a deep breath, Ethan stood in front of one of the unique wooden poles, his eyes firm, and he threw a punch fiercely!

In an instant, the muscles on his arm slightly bulged, as if filled with infinite strength.

"Bang!"

The odd wooden stake, robust as steel, instantly burst into pieces. Wood chips splattered all over the yard.

"Holy moly, am I really this strong?" Ethan was gobsmacked.

To pulverize an extraordinary wooden stake with a single punch, doesn't that mean his strength is on par with a Battle General level?
