Unfamiliar Feelings
A cream-colored carriage adorned with gold trimmings trundled along the snow-laden forest path, its massive frame giving the illusion of an entire room being drawn through the winter landscape by the white horses. Inside, an uneasy silence prevailed. Liliette leaned her stiff back against the plush crimson sofa, almost as large as a bed. Her hair was loosely braided to one side, and a silver robe was draped over her shoulders, lending her an air of understated elegance.
She glanced at her husband seated across from her. His long legs were crossed as he gazed out the window, lost in thought. His black hair, slicked back neatly, revealed a strong forehead, while his thick, straight brows framed piercing gray eyes. His expression was cold, almost indifferent—so unlike the man who had turned their bathroom into a scene of quiet chaos just days before.
