Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Manufacturing Evidence

When Seiryu received Kakashi's message, he was in the Police Force with Fugaku, sorting the clan's ninjutsu to distribute to new civilian recruits.

They picked three C-rank jutsu of each chakra nature from the clan's inheritance and trophy collections. Fire Release was a given—Grand Fireball and Phoenix Fire were among them. The other four chakra natures might be a bit weaker than those from specialist clans, but far stronger than the generic jutsu available to genin.

"Give out C-rank jutsu after just a month's work? Isn't that a bit much?" Fugaku hesitated.

After all, outside the clan, genin could go a whole year before gaining access to a C-rank jutsu. That was why clan ninjas and civilian ninjas were so different.

"Just give them out," Seiryu said. "No matter how many people learn them, our techniques don't run out. Other clans have to worry about resource control—we don't. Our foundation is still the Sharingan."

"Clan head, Hatake Kakashi has come to visit." A knock came at the Police Force captain's office. Seiryu opened the door as a Uchiha chunin, two years his junior, reported in. Judging by his face, he wasn't happy about Kakashi's arrival.

"Kentarou, a guest is a guest—don't be rude," Seiryu called the young man's name and gently reminded him.

"But…" Kentarou wanted to say more, but Seiryu stopped him, and they walked together.

"I know what you want to say. Kakashi's Sharingan may be ours, but it was a gift from our hero, Uchiha Obito, at the end of his life. That eye is the continuation of Obito's will. Uchiha respects the decisions of heroes—and he's never disgraced the Sharingan's name," Seiryu said.

The office wasn't far from the reception room, and Seiryu hadn't lowered his voice. Kakashi, inside, heard every word.

Kakashi was a bit moved. Ever since he'd received this eye, the Uchiha had looked down on him—but now, this new clan head was treating him with unexpected respect.

Seiryu entered the reception room.

"To what do we owe the honor of your visit, Kakashi?"

"By order of the Hokage, please report to the Hokage Tower tomorrow to give an update on the Danzo case," Kakashi replied.

"Understood," Seiryu nodded. "I'll be there."

Kakashi prepared to leave, but Seiryu called him back.

"Kakashi, please wait."

"What is it?" Kakashi looked back, puzzled.

"Since you're here, take the Wood Release ninja with you. We've finished our investigation—he was too young to be involved in most of Danzo's crimes. The only questionable case, I believe, you know which one. His fate is for the Hokage to decide," Seiryu smiled.

Kakashi remembered the Wood Release user he'd fought while protecting the Third Hokage and nodded.

Seiryu led Kakashi to the interrogation area. The screams of Hiroshi and the others made Kakashi frown.

"Our interrogation isn't as professional as the Anbu's, so we sometimes have to use special means," Seiryu said calmly. "One of them is directly connected to the White Fang incident—want to check?"

Kakashi hesitated, then declined. "Better not. It would look bad."

Seiryu didn't press, just led Kakashi to Yamato's cell and handed him a scroll.

"This guy is the result of Danzo and Orochimaru's evil experiments. I'll explain everything to the Hokage tomorrow. This is the key to his sealing jutsu."

Seiryu gave the scroll to Kakashi and signaled he could take the prisoner.

Soon, Kakashi left with Yamato, while Seiryu immediately entered Yamanaka Fu's cell.

Unlike Yamato, Yamanaka Fu had been treated harshly—no food or water, and every named Uchiha chunin had taken turns beating him over the past two days. He'd gone through three rounds of Sharingan genjutsu interrogation and was now fixed to a cross, unable even to lift his head.

Seiryui set up a table and began writing out evidence of Danzo's crimes: colluding with Orochimaru to harm village orphans, deliberately sacrificing comrades on the battlefield for their bloodlines, spreading rumors about White Fang, driving a hero to suicide, and then silencing all the witnesses.

That was the advantage of a transmigrator—Seiryu didn't even need an interrogation; he already knew Danzo's crimes by heart, and even knew exactly what kind of evidence to fabricate.

After finishing, Seiryu walked over, cut Fu's finger, and pressed his fingerprint onto the confession.

Fu struggled to look up, glaring hatefully at Seiryu.

At that moment, Seiryu's Mangekyō Sharingan quietly activated, his chakra and ocular power invading Fu's mind.

Though his genjutsu skills weren't particularly high—barely entry-level compared to most Uchiha—Seiryu wasn't trying to force a confession. He just wanted to shatter the man's mind.

Moments later, Fu's consciousness was in tatters under the Mangekyō's power. Now, he was just a drooling.
