1907
Francia
Paris
The city is brimming with towering houses, but such a city with brimming light is filled with hatred and anger. The eyes of the Francia people couldn't be contained.
Wilhelm could feel the eyes that would pierce his soul. The Francia people aren't kind to see an Elfen in their city, for the people of Francia could still remember the siege of Paris.
"Such hostility…" He whispered while looking around.
He pondered whether he should find a new place to stay, or continue to explore the city of Paris. He wanted to visit the Eiffel tower, considering it's a tourist attraction.
"To think this tower was built much more easily compared to my old life, the World fair's of this world must be more advanced." He continued further into the streets.
He peered at the corner of his eyes, he just sighs in annoyance and went into an alley. After walking through the alley, he was already in another part of the street except something was different. His Elfen ears are gone, and they were replaced by animal-like ears, especially of a Wolf-like. He didn't bother disguising his face.
"Now there's no more eyes staring at me." He happily said. While walking in the streets he could hear the people speaking in french.
He used his magic as usual to understand them.
"Hey did you hear, Francia, Albion and Zima are signing an alliance?"
"Where did you hear that?"
"One of my relatives works for the government and they said something about Entente."
Wilhelm's ears stood up, he decided to stay near somewhere to hear their conversation. 'Hmm… Triple Entente, if I remember Entente in my world started with Franco-Russian Alliance somewhere around 1890s, then Anglo-French Alliance in 1904, then finally it should be around 1907 where it's officially signed.' His eyes shifted to another place.
He saw a place that's called Café de Paris, intrigued by the menu, he sat down inside. Greeted by a server, she has wolf ears like almost everyone in Francia, her ears twitching and greeted Wilhelm with a smile.
"Black Coffee."
"Black Coffee it is." She went back to the counter, and she passed a single piece of paper into the counter.
A strong wind just passed, his ears stood up and while his hair was blown away by the wind. He quickly fixes his hair using magic. He pondered about his next move for the moment.
'I should probably stay in Paris for the time being, and the next place I should visit would be Dunkerque.' He waited, he placed his hand at the table, and lean forward using his arm as he pondered his future.
"Here's your Black coffee monsieur." She elegantly places down his black coffee on the table.
"Merci." He sat properly, and he grabbed the mug in the handle, he placed his fingers delicately. He unconsciously took a sip of the black coffee like a noble, and he closed his eyes in relaxation.
"This is bliss…" He was satisfied, the black coffee was brewed to his liking.
While passing some time, he took out his notebook, and it was a fountain pen. Everything was made using magic, as the Fountain pen doesn't smudge any of the ink when touched, and they can be erased with the back of the pen using magic. It was an advanced and complex magic to make.
"Now what should I add?"
"Masters of Europe consist of 30 tables, with different scenarios. Some of them consist of a reference to my world, the Unification of the German Empire, Naval arms race, the fall of Russia, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, and the German Empire."
"Should I perhaps continue it with the Weimar Republic?" Considering the consequences of writing such stories first would be troublesome for him.
Since the publication of Master of Europe the first time wasn't that much of a hit, until time progressed and only a year and it was a sudden rise of sales and a abrupt questions about the story.
The book can be considered treason in the Deutsches Reich, because of the fall of German Empire contents that is within the book. But due to it being either a fiction or not it was a controversial topic, but it was a well made book that told the tale of an Empire.
The contents wasn't just an Empire, it was also the tale of the New World, becoming involved and other factors. It contains such stories in just a single and compact book that it seems unrealistic, but sometimes fiction is more plausible than reality.
"Hmm… I should probably push it to the Weimar Republic, and finally the end of the European Powers, United Kingdom, and France. The Rise of the Third Reich, the War that will change the world forever." He muttered as he was able to write tons of content for a draft, but he looked at the skies and the sun was about to set.
While he was about to stand up and find an apartment complex to stay in. Until he saw a familiar face, it was Jeanne. He didn't bother to say hello, until Jeanne's eyes shifted to him, which made him sweat.
'Uh… busted.' He could feel her gaze at him, because he didn't bother changing his face since he's not a spy or anything.
Jeanne approached him, and she smiled knowing she was able to tell that it was indeed Wilhelm.
"Wilhelm." Jeanne said with a smile and sat down in front of him.
"Good Afternoon Jeanne." He answered back.
"So care to tell me why are you disguising yourself?"
"No particular reason, it's mostly because I don't want to be eyed every time… just like right now." Wilhelm pointed at her.
"Oh… hahaha! You're hilarious, why didn't you do that earlier when we met, I'm guessing you're not here to make trouble are you now?" She changed her tone in a much more firm way.
"I mean, why would I do that? I'm just here for sightseeing, and I didn't even bother hiding my face, just my ears." He snapped his finger, and his elfen ears appeared back and his wolf ears disappeared.
"Happy now?" He smiled back.
"Alright, alright. I won't pry too much but to think you are proficient in magic."
"Magic is fun, but considering I don't want to gather more attention, you won't mind if I return it back."
"Sure, I don't mind at all, I'm just curious to see you here, and also disguising your ears."
"Thank you for understanding me." He smiled back, as the wolf-like ears appeared once more.
"Also if you don't mind, do you have any recommendations for an Apartment that I can stay in?"
"Sure, the one where I am staying should be available if you don't mind."
"You are also staying in an apartment?"
"Yeah, it's not fancy like where you live in a massive mansion or something."
He chuckled at her remarks. "You don't have to worry about that, I prefer it to be more comfortable. A normal apartment works the best." He answered.
"Good to know!" Jeanne answered.
"Since you're sightseeing in Paris, I won't mind being your guide."
"Are you serious?"
"Sure, I don't have anything to do for now after all."
"That would be a great help!" He smiled.
Thus a friendship between a Francia and a Deutsch was born.
