"Roar—"
Although this might not be the best way to describe it, Riku really felt at that moment that Garchomp was like a vicious dog, its sharp teeth directly piercing the skin, desperately biting down on the Lake Guardian, Uxie.
As if that wasn't enough, Garchomp, having bitten Uxie, actually shook its head violently with all its might.
Riku, with his good eyesight, was only able to see a yellow blur due to Garchomp's shaking. If he hadn't known it was Uxie from the start, he definitely wouldn't have known what Garchomp was thrashing around.
However, what surprised Riku even more was that Uxie, being attacked so fiercely by Garchomp, didn't make a single sound. It was as if it wasn't the one being bitten.
And the other Blue and Red Lake Guardians, watching their partner being attacked like this, numbly didn't even glance at it.
It was eerily strange.
"It is indeed as you said," Cynthia had already walked to Riku's side.
"These three Lake Guardians must be replicas. Looking at them now, they not only lack the sense of pain, they probably don't even have thoughts."
"They're just puppets," Riku frowned.
"Cyrus is too detestable. He actually created such life forms. If they successfully apply this technology, it will be a disaster for the entire Pokémon world."
"Therefore, these replica Lake Guardians must not be allowed to remain," Cynthia sighed.
"Did you see that old man in the white coat?"
"I'm certain that he's the one who created these replica Lake Guardians."
"Mesprit, Azelf, Psychic! Save Uxie!"
Seeing that the situation was not good, Cyrus immediately issued commands to the other two Lake Guardians.
This was the first time he had led the replica Lake Guardians into battle, and he hadn't had time to get used to either the commands or their reactions.
"Garchomp, fall back!" Cynthia also didn't dare to let her Pokémon directly take the Lake Guardians' powerful Psychic-type moves.
When Garchomp released its bite, Uxie, the Yellow Lake Guardian with several holes in its head from the bite, actually calmly and without any expression floated back into the Lake Guardians' formation.
"Cyrus, are you even human anymore?"
Cynthia looked at the state of the replica Lake Guardians, feeling very uncomfortable.
"You'll be punished by the heavens for doing this!"
"Punished by the heavens? I am the heaven, would I punish myself?" Cyrus said brazenly, looking like a madman.
"Come! I'd like to see who can leave the Spear Pillar today!"
"Lake Guardians, combined attack. Explosion!"
"You're crazy!" Cynthia exclaimed in surprise, pulling Riku behind Metagross.
"Riku, quickly recall Lapras to its Poké Ball."
While speaking, Cynthia had already recalled Garchomp and Spiritomb to their Ultra Balls, one Poké Ball in each hand.
Seeing Cynthia so nervous, Riku didn't dare to hesitate at all.
Just as he had recalled Lapras to its Poké Ball, a blinding light almost made Riku lose his sight.
Then, Riku felt that he couldn't hear anything, and he unknowingly fell unconscious.
---
"Who exactly are you? Where do you come from?"
In a daze, Riku seemed to hear two unfamiliar voices constantly questioning him.
When he opened his eyes, Riku looked at the pitch-black surroundings, unable to see his own fingers, and thought he had been blinded by the Lake Guardians' combined explosion.
"Metagross, are you there? Cynthia, where are you?" Riku shouted loudly, but there was no response at all.
Suddenly, a burst of light appeared, and two Pokémon radiating dazzling light appeared before Riku's eyes.
"You... what exactly are you?"
"Human, hello." A voice, he couldn't tell if it was from the left or the right Pokémon, spoke:
"The explosion of the replica Lake Guardians awakened us."
"But we didn't expect to see a... human like you in the Spear Pillar."
"Awakened?" Riku was taken aback.
"Could it be that you two are the Palkia and Dialga?"
The voices of the two Pokémon sounded simultaneously.
"You are qualified to call us by our names."
"I am Dialga, the master of time."
"I am Palkia, the master of space."
---
"It really is you," Riku said in astonishment.
"Where is this place? What did you bring me here for? Where are my Pokémon and Cynthia?"
"Don't worry." The two legendary beasts spoke slowly.
"This is an alternate dimension we created. Only you are qualified to enter."
"Your Pokémon are all in their Poké Balls. That Metagross and that human girl were just teleported out of the Spear Pillar by us during the explosion."
"Neither of them were injured, you can rest assured."
"Is that so?" Riku paused.
"Then what do you two great gods want with me?"
"To be honest, it was Cyrus leading Team Galactic who destroyed your Spear Pillar. Cynthia and I just wanted to stop them. We didn't expect this accident to happen."
"It's alright," a slightly cold voice sounded.
"Even the most powerful explosion could not destroy the Spear Pillar."
"To be called the Gods by you humans, and not even be able to protect our own temple, we wouldn't deserve the title of gods."
Riku was a bit impatient. He didn't know what those two legendary beasts had brought him here for. They had just been bragging and subtly boasting about how powerful they were.
"There is a question we want to ask you."
Seeing that Riku hadn't spoken for a long time, Dialga and Palkia spoke again:
"Why do we sense a terrifying aura coming from you?"
"And why do you have the aura of the Legendary Birds, Groudon, and Kyogre on you?"
"We hope you can answer truthfully."
"How would I know?" Riku said speechlessly.
"I come from the Orange Archipelago. The guardian deity there is the Legendary Birds, so maybe that's the reason."
"As for Groudon and Kyogre, they fought near my island before. Your noses are really sharp; you can even detect something that happened so long ago."
Riku's response immediately made Dialga and Palkia exchange a look.
Although it seemed somewhat plausible, they faintly felt that something was still amiss.
After all, it was the Orange Archipelago that worshipped the Legendary Birds, not the young human in front of them.
And Groudon and Kyogre's fight—how could it possibly leave their aura on him?
Just as the two legendary beasts felt something was wrong and wanted to ask further, Riku's expression suddenly changed.
He felt the Poké Ball hanging from his waist shaking violently. Looking down, it was Darkrai's Ultra Ball.
"Come out, Darkrai."
Without even asking Dialga and Palkia, Riku directly threw the Poké Ball.
Having probably waited for some time, Darkrai jumped out of the Ultra Ball and immediately glared fiercely at Dialga and Palkia.
"It's you, you killed my ancestors."
"Today, I will make you pay for your blood debt!!"
