Chapter 6 - S1 E6 - LHS-1361

The channel crackled to life as the stations flight controller acknowledged the landing request along with emergency maintenance.

"Kilo-18 clear for landing on pad S04, maintenance on standby"

The FTL travel to Prospect station further damaged his ships thrusters and overall controllability. As the ship drifted through the airlock one of the engines shut off completely with loud bangs echoing throughout the station as smoke started to pour out. Time was of the essence as fear that his ship would drift into the station set in. The thick black smoke forced landings and takeoffs to be halted until Kilo landed and the smoke cleared. As the ship was just about to touch down the engines faulted dripping the ship onto the landing pad as onlooking repair crews watched in horror.

They practically sprinted with as much gear they could carry the second the safety barrier dropped. Kilo had to squeeze through his jammed airlock with his suit on as smoke bellowed out, he was immediately taken to a medical bay despite his protest.

He was forced to lay in the medical bay while the staff performed vitality checks for any potential damage. The medical bay staff mostly consisted of Eklan due to their collective intelligence, they tried their best to make conversation with Kilo but were rather unsuccessful as he brushed off all questions.

The medical checks all came back with acceptable results allowing Kilo to leave the medical bay but due to repair crews still working on his ship he couldn't get near. With nothing to do while waiting for his ship to be repaired he wandered the stations markets, he was bounced around like a pinball as he constantly bumped into life forms throughout the markets. He could see the ant like workers repairing his ship from the viewing platform as ships roared through the airlock.

Once Kilo was bored of watching from the platform he made his way down to the contract broker for when his ship was given the all clear. The contracts had mostly cycled through making room for new ones, they were mostly the same except for the influx of bounties. Searching through contracts he found a rather strange bounty, this target was on Prospect with him. The payment was higher than he expected for a seemingly straightforward bounty, the details provided indicated the individual is likely armed although not dangerous, the bounty was issued by Prospect station security after gaining identification of the culprit stealing high value goods from vendors. The final sentence in the contract details was that the target must be brought in alive.

Without much else to do Kilo accepted the contract after little contemplation, he was given full access to Prospect station once the contract had been signed over along with a tracking device being attached to his suit due to protocol. Without any leads to where the target could be he started to ask around but not a single life form offered credible information if any.

"High value goods, likely trying to quickly sell, can't offer to official markets, target lives on station but not reported home. Come on Kilo think. Personal equipment vendor stolen from, closest escape route is alleys, ok let's start there"

Kilo's mind races with possible routes the target could have taken while trying to predict where he would have gone without a safe home.

He asked the few life forms in alleys if they had seen anything suspicious, despite them clearly knowing atleast a little they seemed to have some form on code to abide by. Left with little other options he bribed for information finally giving him a lead if the information was indeed true. With the little information gathered Kilo was able to find a black market hidden away deep within the alleys of the stations housing.
