By the time Ji Yen left the cave, the sun was already setting down.
He stand outside the cave and looked at the wide forest before his eyes.
As he stand there, Ji Yen thought of exploring the forest a bit further from his current territory.
Ever since he cam to this world, he never left more than 2 miles aways from his nest.
So, he needed to know any danger that may hidden beyond his boundaries.
He asked. "System. How many... no,no. Tell me what lies beyond my current territory. I mean on all sides."
[If host is asking about beasts that can pose a danger to host, then there are currently three of them.]
"Details." He said.
[Currently, host's territory is surrounded by three other beasts' territories.
Host's boundary is like a equilateral triangle. Left and right side edges and base.
On the left side edge is the territory of the big demon tiger. On the right side is the territory of a demon monkey. And lastly the base side is the territory of wolf king of Grey wolves.]
"Wolves?..not wolf?" He asked just to be sure.
[Yes, wolves.]
"OK. So all those three Beasts are at Grade 1 just like me. Right?" Ji Yen inquired.
[All three of them are at Grade 1 demon beast realm. However, the wolves have another two wolves that are about to reach half grade 1 realm.]
Ji Yen thought for a moment and decided to explore the right side.
Because it will be safer for him to explore the monkey side rather than the tiger side.
He thought for a moment and decided ask for the system's assistance. "Which direction do you think it will be safer for me to explore."
[Host, please note that in the future it will be better for host to find these things out by yourself.
The safer side would....]
Before the system could continue, Ji Yen asked jokingly in the middle of the sentence. "What do you mean I should do it myself in the future. You are the one who brought me here."
[According to the host's memories, I was not responsible for your dead and so I am not related to your crossing.]
"What do you mean my memories...? Can you read my mind?" He said with his sparrow eyebrows rising.
[Host and I are connected by spirit. So yes, I can read your mind and you can read my mind. Everything host is thinking I can see.
It just that I don't think at all and everything I think will be popped up on the screen all the time.]
"So what you are saying is that all these times I could communicate with using ,y mind only!!! Why did you not say so. I must looked like fool all those time when I talked to you." Ji Yen complained.
And he continued. "All those times, those creatures must looked at me like a mentally unstable bird chirping loudly to itself from time to time."
Ji Yen felt ashamed for sometime.
Ultimately, he pushed those useless thought back to a corner of his mind and asked his more important question. "What you were saying is that I am an unlucky soul who got transmigrated by chance?"
[That would be true.]
"Heiya..." He sighed for a bit.
"OK. Back to the start. Continue what you were saying about the safer side." He decided to asked the important question for now.
[The safer side would be the monkey's side. The monkey demon is the weakest of them all three. So host would be safer exploring that side. And maybe an alliance could be form between the two of you.]
Ji Yen saw the screen and thought the idea of alliance was feasible.
Now the wolves side will get two more warriors. It would be only be a matter of time before they started expanding their territory.
Forming an alliance would be good choice for fending of the wolves.
But he can not just enters the territory of the demon monkey. He would need to show the monkey that he means no harm.
The problem is he doesn't know how to communicate with other demon beast.
"How do I communicate with the monkey? I don't have any idea how he will react." He asked the system with his mind.
[Host can wait for few days for me to derive a method for communication with other beast. Or host can just go directly there now. You will understand their actions.]
Hearing the system's words, Ji Yen fell into a deep thought.
After a moment, he asked. "You mean I will understand their actions?"
[Yes.]
He continued. "What about the method you mentioned?"
[That method not only help host in understanding their actions. Host can directly understand what they are saying and they will also understand what you will be saying.]
[Note: It will only work on demon beast. Not on humans and other normal animals.]
Ji Yen thought for a moment. And he decided to leave after the system finish deriving the method.
So he turned around and walked back to the cave. He wanted to rest for the night. And he also decided to make the cave his temporary home until he found another suitable spot.
Inside the cave, Ji Yen asked the system one last time before going to sleep. "How long will the derivation of the method will take?"
[It will only take about 8 days at minimum or 10 days at maximum.]
"Can you speed up the process?" He said.
[Host, the speed of light can not be change.] (Implying that it is already working at its maximum speed.)
The system's words made Ji Yen let out some embarrassing light cough.
Chirp..chirp..
After the conversation with the system, he closed his eyes to rest for the night.
For the next few days, Ji Yen went on with his daily routine.
Hunting for food when hungry.
And ever since his breakthrough to Grade 1 realm, he has been cultivating by absorbing the heaven and earth Qi.
On the ninth day after his breakthrough, the system finally finished deriving the method.
[Ding! The method is ready for host to receive it.]
"Finally, it's here." Ji Yen murmured.
"OK. Transfer it to my brain." He ordered.
