Kael walked through the academy's quiet halls, hands tucked into his pockets, the bandage on his cheek still warm from the infirmary's light healing magic. His boots echoed lightly off the polished floors.
> "Damn…" he muttered to himself, "I forgot how rude the main character was."
His brow furrowed, mind replaying the earlier encounter.
> When Jin pointed that sword at my neck… I meant to speak calmly, but…
His steps slowed slightly, and his eyes narrowed.
> "Why the hell did my voice come out like that?"
That bloodlust thick, suffocating, primal had poured from him like a broken dam. His intent hadn't been to threaten, but his body had reacted on its own. Uncontrolled. Instinctual.
> "That wasn't me," he said under his breath. "That was this body."
And suddenly, it clicked.
> That's probably what woke the princess up. My presence alone shifted the air. It wasn't just words it was the weight behind them.
He recalled Jin's movement the slight flinch, the hesitation in the sword's path just after he spoke.
> "He probably thought I didn't notice," Kael smirked, "but I did."
His expression darkened slightly.
> "I've killed monsters. Sure. Even people. But it's only been six months since I was dropped into this world…"
He looked at his hands.
> But this body… it feels like it's been killing for far longer. Since birth, maybe. Like it was trained to live in blood and shadow.
An assassin's presence.
He let out a slow breath and resumed walking. By the time he reached his room, the sun had already started setting.
The rest of Friday passed by like a blur classes, food, more training and before he knew it, Saturday morning had come, bathed in golden light through the dorm window.
Kael sat on his couch, half-dressed and towel-drying his hair after a morning shower. He had planned to spend the day quietly, maybe sneak in some solo training but then something buzzed beside him.
His eyes drifted toward his watch. A new message blinked at the top.
