Knock. Knock.
Kael opened the door, and standing there was Elsa Sylvenmire.
But she looked… different.
Her once sleek and neatly combed short brown hair had grown out just a little now a messy, windswept style that gave her a rough-edged charm. Her bright green eyes shone with confidence and fire, matching the wildness of her new look.
Kael blinked.
"So that's how her hair looks without her family's maids fussing over it… looks better this way, honestly."
She crossed her arms and tilted her head, giving him a teasing smirk.
"Word around the academy is… you killed over 200 monsters in Combat Simulation."
Kael leaned against the doorframe casually. "It was nothing much."
Elsa's smile widened. "I really want to fight you now."
Kael sighed. "Still with that?"
She nodded, unwavering.
He raised an eyebrow. "Well, I'm not in the mood for a fight right now."
Elsa leaned forward, clearly not deterred.
"So? Tomorrow then?"
Kael paused, then smirked.
"You know what… how about next week?"
Her eyes lit up like emerald fire.
"Deal."
She turned to leave, then glanced over her shoulder.
"You better train, Kael. Or I'll beat you into the ground in front of the whole academy."
Kael chuckled under his breath as she walked off.
"Guess I've got another storm coming…"
He closed the door, the faintest of smiles on his face, and leaned back against it.
"Next week, huh?"
