Chapter 1 - The Ghost of Konoha

What If: What if Itachi Uchiha appeared in the world of Attack on Titan moments before the fall of Wall Maria?

---

The wind was heavy that night, carrying the scent of something ancient. Shiganshina slept beneath the shadow of its walls, unaware that this was the night everything was supposed to change.

Eren tossed in his bed, dreaming of wings. Of freedom. Of fire.

And then — the ground shook.

Boom.

The Colossal Titan had appeared, steam pouring off its massive form like breath from hell. Screams followed, chaos erupting as the soldiers scrambled, the walls crumbling under the weight of inevitability.

But something else arrived.

He stood in the heart of the city before anyone noticed — a man with long, dark hair, a cloak patterned in red clouds, and eyes that glowed like cursed stars.

Itachi Uchiha had watched countless tragedies. He had killed his clan for peace. But as he stood in this unfamiliar world, watching history repeat itself in a different form — innocent lives on the verge of annihilation — he decided he would not stand idle again.

He moved like wind through the crowd. Quiet. Purposeful.

When the Titan raised its arm to breach the inner gate, Itachi leapt — not high, not far — but suddenly, impossibly, he was standing on the Titan's shoulder.

He looked into its empty eyes.

"Forgive me," he whispered — and his Sharingan spun.

Tsukuyomi.

To Bertholdt, it felt like decades. He saw every life lost in this city. Every child trampled. Every mother torn from her son. He saw the world he hoped to save — burn. He saw Eren's rage. Armin's despair. The faces of the dead haunted him.

And then he saw Itachi — standing above it all. Silent. Alone. A mirror of himself.

Bertholdt awoke, weeping, his Titan dissolving into steam.

The people never saw Itachi land. He was already gone.

Later, Eren walked the rubble in confusion.

"The Titan... just disappeared?" he asked. "Why?"

Mikasa looked up. On a rooftop, she'd caught a glimpse of someone. A man with eyes like hers — cold, haunted. Kind.

She said nothing.

Levi found a feather on his windowsill that night. A black crow's feather, marked with a single drop of blood. He kept it in his pocket for years.

---

In the quiet forest beyond the walls, Itachi sat beneath a tree, eyes closed.

He smiled.

Maybe this time… he saved something.

And with the last of his chakra, he let go — his body dissolving into crows, scattering into the sky.

Above the broken world, they flew free.
