Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Dad Abandons Us on an Island

Name's Monkey D. Iron. I'm four years old, my twin brother is Dragon, and our dad is a complete maniac.

You know how most fathers take their kids fishing or maybe teach them how to ride a bike?

Our dad left us on a deserted island full of wild animals.

No, seriously.

He just dropped us off, waved like it was a family picnic, and said:

"Good luck, brats! Survive for a week or don't bother coming home!"

THEN HE SAILED AWAY.

Me and Dragon just stood there, mouths hanging open.

"D-Did… did Dad just abandon us?!" Dragon squeaked.

"Yep," I sighed, hands on my hips. "Classic Dad."

To be fair, Garp isn't famous yet. He's not the Marine Hero.

Right now, he's just a 28-year-old battle-hungry nutjob with freakish strength and the worst parenting ideas in history.

And apparently, this was training.

The island wasn't one of those nice tropical ones with clean beaches and coconut drinks.

Oh no — this place was straight out of a survival horror story.

Wild boars, giant birds, snakes thicker than Dragon's waist, and trees so tall you couldn't see the sky.

"W-What do we do now?!" Dragon panicked, clutching a stick like it was a sacred weapon.

I, being the certified reincarnated guy with mysterious moon-based powers, shrugged.

"Simple. We survive. You don't wanna feel Dad's 'Fist of Love' when we get back if we fail, do you?"

Dragon shivered.

Good. Motivation achieved.

First task: find shelter.

We found a cave after nearly getting chased by a boar the size of a cart.

Second task: food.

Dragon tried to pick berries.

I stopped him just before he could eat the poisonous ones.

"You tryna die already?" I scolded.

Turns out, my cheat power wasn't useful during the day, since it depended on the moon's shape and presence.

And guess what — it was broad daylight.

So I was basically a normal four-year-old.

A normal four-year-old with survival experience from watching too many isekai anime in my past life.

Night fell eventually.

And when the full moon rose, something inside me stirred.

Power surged through my tiny body.

Muscles didn't bulge like Escanor's, but I felt stronger, faster, sharper.

"Whoa… Iron, your eyes… they're glowing!" Dragon gawked.

I grinned.

"Looks like we'll be fine tonight."

Time to show this island who's boss.
