After some time, they reached a corner of the college—an old, abandoned classroom. They slipped inside, closing the door behind them.
The room was unused, covered in dust. Broken window panels, spiderwebs in the corners, desks pushed aside. It wasn't clean, but right now, it was the perfect hiding spot.
They stayed quiet.
More than once, they heard footsteps outside. Heavy, slow, searching. Each time, she held her breath, afraid they would be found.
After a while, the sound faded.
The guy turned to her. "I'll go and check if they're gone," he said. "Don't come out yet."
Before she could say anything, he stepped outside.
She was left alone in the dark classroom. Waiting. Worrying.
Her mind wouldn't stop racing. What if they were still outside? What if something happened to him?
A minute passed. Then another.
Then, finally—the door creaked open again.
He stepped back inside, a smile on his face. Ye said ,"They're gone now. Chill, girl."
She breathed out, relief flooding through her.
Without another word, she followed him out of the old classroom.
The night felt quieter now. The danger had passed—for now.
