"Speaking of weapons..."
A quick glance at his blade told him everything.
It was changing. Something inside it stirred, as if waiting to be awakened.
With the right push, it would grow stronger, and become a more reliable tool for survival in this world.
Just as he was thinking about his next move, a knock came at the door.
Kana stood outside. Her face was serious, and it looked like she had something important to say.
"Can I have a moment?" she inquired.
"Sure. Let's talk in your room,"
Sitting quietly at the edge of the bed, Kana studied his face first.
Without pressing her, he leaned back on his elbows and waited.
"I..." Her fingers curled slightly into the blanket.
"You can be honest with me," he said softly. "I already trust you more than anyone in this place."
She paused, then let out a deep breath. Her shoulders relaxed as she glanced at her hands.
"I'm a killer"
Luck didn't interrupt.
