The soft glow of morning filtered into the room as Axel stirred awake, only to find a small warm body snuggled close to him. Jaimie had somehow wiggled closer to him during the night. With a small smile, Axel stretched and began mentally preparing for the day ahead.
After getting out of bed, he helped Jaimie pick out his outfit. The little boy insisted, "I can bathe myself and wear my own clothes too!" Axel humored him but still supervised to make sure Jaimie didn't come out of the bathroom wearing socks on his hands. Jayvaughn, meanwhile, had already gotten ready and was in the kitchen making a simple breakfast of toast, eggs, and fruit.
Once breakfast was done and eaten, the trio left the apartment, stepping into the private elevator in the Syren group's condo building. Jayvaughn held Axel's hand while Axel carried a bouncing, chatty Jaimie. The three looked like a picture-perfect little family.
