Chapter 1 - 0.The origins of revenge

"And I thought the world was given to me...."

Aris Ronegard, king of Akris for 6 years, wandered, fleeing beyond its borders.

"And I thought I could protect them from any threat...."

He walked with difficulty, blood drying on his armor, a leg probably broken, a battered face, a twisted ankle...

"Aris Ronegard, your insolent kingdom is no more."

His enemies had joined forces to bring down his country. The king to the south, the kingdom of Jor ruled by Duke De Grey. To the north, beyond the river, the kingdom of Koran ruled by Leonart. And finally, to the east, the kingdom of light, the self-proclaimed enlightened ones, whose supreme ruler and leader is the great Ventis.

"Aris Ronegard, your kingdom resisted only because Ventis wanted it to. You should have understood by now where your insolence has led you."

These were the last words the King of Arkis heard before Duke De Grey cut off the head of his most loyal soldier.

His people had helped him flee when he should have been protecting them. Now he walked, far from his lands, far from his kingdom, far from rest and refuge. He was no longer a king.

"I'm sorry, Roald, Lee, Katia, Morgon..."

Under pain and sorrow, he walked holding his side open, the same side that was still bleeding. He escused himself beside all those who had perished.

The King of Arkis no longer had a kingdom, but he still had one thing...

"Duke of Grey...King of Koran...and especially you Ventis...I will lead you to your doom. I will reduce you to ashes. I will annihilate your kingdoms and all those who face me. I swear on my life that as long as I breathe, none of you will be safe."
