Chapter 2: The Navy Recruit
The small boat rocked gently as Coby guided Luffy to Shells Town, a place under Navy control.
Luffy stood proudly at the bow, his straw hat fluttering in the breeze.
"I'm gonna find a swordsman," he grinned. "And meat. Definitely meat."
Coby laughed nervously, unsure of what Luffy would do next.
At the center of town stood a tall stone wall—and behind it, a courtyard with a single man tied to a post.
A fearsome swordsman, tall and scarred, sat in silence under the sun.
That was Roronoa Zoro, bound and sentenced to death for defying the Navy.
Rumors called him a demon—merciless and cruel.
Luffy wasn't scared. He hopped the wall and marched up to the man.
"You're the pirate hunter, right? Join my crew!"
Zoro opened one eye. "Get lost."
Meanwhile, inside the base, the cruel Captain Morgan and his spoiled son Helmeppo ruled with fear.
Helmeppo had tricked Zoro into taking the fall for protecting a little girl from a wolf.
Zoro had agreed to survive tied up for a month—but they planned to execute him early.
Luffy burst into the base, fists flying, knocking down guards left and right.
When Helmeppo tried to threaten him, Luffy punched him square in the face.
"Anyone who hurts kids isn't fit to lead!" Luffy roared.
Zoro was stunned as Luffy untied him. "You'd risk your life for me?"
"I want strong people in my crew," Luffy replied simply.
With a smirk, Zoro grabbed his three swords. "Fine. I'll be a pirate—for now."
They faced Morgan together. The towering man swung his massive axe-arm.
Zoro slashed through the Navy grunts like wind through leaves.
Luffy crushed Morgan with a rubber-powered punch.
As the dust cleared, the town cheered. Zoro stood beside Luffy.
Coby saluted them, choosing to stay and join the Navy.
"I'll rise through the ranks," he said proudly. "And we'll meet again!"
Luffy and Zoro sailed away, two strangers bound by shared dreams.
The journey to find One Piece had truly begun.
