Cherreads

Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 The Art of Flattery

Seeing that the red-cooked pork was gone, Mason Bennett began to shift his focus to braised pork with preserved vegetables. The taste was also quite acceptable.

When Elliot Morris entered with a clothing bag, he saw his boss holding a bowl of rice, eating braised pork with preserved vegetables.

The scene was indeed very impactful.

With a clatter, the clothing bag slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.

Looking again at the bowl of rice, oh my, their boss actually ate a bowl of rice, and with such greasy food too.

He hurried over, "Mr. Bennett, is your stomach acting up again? Should I call Dr. Lu to have him bring..."

"Shut up." The cold voice interrupted Elliot Morris's rambling.

Elliot was startled and quickly shut his mouth. Then he noticed Mason Bennett didn't seem to be mechanically swallowing the food, but rather...

Really enjoying it?

Elliot widened his eyes. This wasn't scientific! Did the boss's illness get better? He hadn't heard anything about it!

"The clothes?"

Elliot snapped back to reality, quickly turned to pick up the bag from the ground, "Here, the smallest size."

Mason Bennett nodded slightly, then looked at Bella Green and said flatly, "Put it on."

Bella Green had just finished eating as well, put down her chopsticks, wiped her mouth, thanked Elliot, and took the bag to the bathroom.

Elliot watched the pretty, slender figure and was slightly stunned. It was truly amazing to see someone outside of the Bennett Family at the boss's table.

"This gentleman is..." he asked instinctively.

Thinking Mason Bennett wouldn't answer, he was surprised when the man put down his bowl and chopsticks, glanced at the doorway with deep eyes, and spoke gently.

"My brother."

Elliot immediately stood up straight, feeling a chill. Oh no, did he hear something he shouldn't have? Turns out the chairman has a secret child outside? Unbelievable!!

Not long after, Bella Green returned.

The beige cropped pants and bright yellow sweatshirt made her face look fair and tender, giving her a charming boy-next-door vibe.

She was clean and neat, leaving a good impression. The only downside was that she was too slender.

Looking at the pretty little guy in front of him, Elliot chuckled, intending to flatter him a bit.

"Mr. Bennett, the young master really looks like you."

Mason Bennett: "..."

Bella Green: "???"

As both of them looked at him simultaneously, Elliot's smile suddenly froze. The worst is when the air suddenly becomes silent...

Did he say something wrong? Why is the atmosphere so awkward?

"Why is he calling me young master?" Bella Green looked at Mason Bennett, utterly baffled.

She had just put on a different set of clothes, what happened?

And how did she resemble Mason Bennett in any way?

Mason Bennett squinted, looking at Elliot, also curious about what exactly was going on in Elliot's head.

Elliot swallowed, feeling like his imagination had gone a bit too far...

Mason Bennett stood up, straightening the neatly ironed suit on his body, his voice cool, "Let's go."

Bella Green trotted to catch up.

The car drove to the Huai River Villa area, and from a distance, Bella Green could see the lively scene in the Green Family yard.

Samuel Gren and the others must have just returned, as they were still in the yard and hadn't entered the house.

Everyone's faces were filled with smiles, warm and harmonious.

Bella Green lowered her eyes, with eyelashes long as palm fans hiding the loneliness in her eyes.

"Go to the side door." Her voice was slightly hoarse.

Mason Bennett also noticed the scene in the Green Family yard, thinking that with the family present, Bella Green might find it difficult to enter through the main entrance.

Thinking about the tough and constrained days this little thing lived in the Green Family made him feel a bit annoyed and displeased. Nonetheless, he instructed Elliot to park the car at the side door.
