Chaos erupted through the Blue Moon Pack as the chilling sound of howls and screams filled the air. Callista's heart pounded against her chest as she turned to Lucien, who was already shifting into his massive black wolf. His blue eyes—now glowing with a golden hue—locked onto hers for a brief moment before he sprinted toward the danger.
Callista felt frozen for a second. She had just started training, and now there was an attack? Who was attacking them? The witches? Rogues?
Emma and Ella rushed toward her, their faces pale. "Your Highness, we need to get you to safety!" Ella pleaded, grabbing Callista's hand.
"No." Callista pulled back. "I'm not running."
Emma's eyes widened. "You're not ready! You don't even know how to—"
A loud explosion shook the ground, sending all three of them tumbling to the ground. Dust and debris filled the air as warriors clashed in the distance. Callista coughed and looked up to see figures emerging through the smoke.
Three figures. Dark robes. Eyes glowing like embers. Witches.
Callista's blood ran cold. Sabrina had returned—sooner than expected.
"Well, well," a smooth voice echoed. "Look at you, niece. Already playing Luna."
Callista's breath hitched as her aunt, Sabrina, stepped forward, her auburn hair flowing wildly around her. Her golden eyes held amusement, but beneath that, there was pure malice.
Lucien's warriors shifted into their wolves, growling protectively in front of Callista. But Sabrina merely chuckled. "Oh, don't worry. I'm not here to kill anyone... yet."
Callista clenched her fists. "Then why are you here?"
"To give you a choice." Sabrina took a step closer. "Come with me willingly, and I'll spare this pack. Fight me, and I'll burn this place to the ground."
A growl erupted from behind Callista as Lucien reappeared in his human form, his bare chest rising and falling with heavy breaths. His eyes blazed with fury. "Over my dead body."
Sabrina smirked. "That can be arranged."
The air around them crackled with tension. Warriors prepared to attack. Witches raised their hands, their fingertips glowing with power. The battle was seconds away from igniting.
Callista stood at the center of it all, caught between her past and her future.
She had to make a choice.
