Kaelen's POV
Pain wracked my body as I sat up in bed, my head throbbing with each heartbeat. The mate bond still burned like an open wound, but the physical agony was nothing compared to the crushing weight of revelation settling over me. Beside me, my brothers looked equally destroyed—Ronan staring vacantly at the ceiling, Orion hunched forward with his head in his hands.
"I can't believe..." Ronan's voice trailed off, unable to finish the thought.
The door had barely closed behind Seraphina, but her words hung in the air like poison. My wolf whined pathetically, desperate to chase after her.
"We did this," I whispered, voicing the horrible truth none of us wanted to face. "Everything she suffered... all of it was our doing."
I forced myself to stand despite my legs feeling like they might buckle beneath me. The physical echo of her betrayal still coursed through my veins, but I deserved it—we all did.
