Orion stood before me, his muscular chest heaving with each labored breath. Sweat glistened on his forehead, trailing down his neck to disappear beneath his shirt collar. His eyes—usually cool and detached—burned with an intensity that made my stomach clench.
"Get out." My voice wavered despite my attempt at firmness. "Go find Lilith. She'll gladly help with your... situation."
"I can't." He took another step toward me. "Don't you understand? It has to be you."
I backed away until my legs hit the edge of my bed again. "Why me? You hate me."
A strangled laugh escaped his throat. "Trust me, I've been asking myself the same question." His fingers fumbled with his shirt buttons. "The potion doesn't create desire. It amplifies what's already there."
