"What is your one request?"
Orion's question hung in the air between us. His fingers, tracing lazy patterns on my shoulder, felt like burning trails against my skin. In his eyes, I saw something I'd never expected – vulnerability.
I could ask for anything right now.
The power of that realization surged through me. I could demand better treatment, ask him to stand up to his brothers on my behalf, or even request private quarters away from their constant cruelty.
But something else took shape in my mind – something colder, more calculated.
"I don't have anything in mind right now," I said, my voice deliberately flat as I moved away from his touch.
Confusion flickered across his face. "Nothing? There must be something you want."
I shrugged, pulling the sheet up to cover my nakedness. "I'll let you know when I think of something."
His brow furrowed. This clearly wasn't the response he'd been expecting.
