I barely made it to the main foyer when Lilith appeared, blocking my path. Her makeup was perfect as always, her smile venomous.
"Going somewhere, Luna?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm on that last word.
I kept my face neutral. "Not that it's your business, but I'm heading to town."
She stepped closer, her expensive perfume nearly choking me. "Let me give you some friendly advice. Pack your things and leave while you still can."
