Time froze as Kaelen crossed the training grounds, his movements a blur of lethal grace. The warriors scattered like leaves in a storm, no one daring to stand in the path of their enraged Alpha. Logan's face had drained of all color, his earlier bravado evaporating in an instant.
"Alpha, I—" Logan's words cut off as Kaelen grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off the ground.
"You touched her," Kaelen growled, his voice barely human. "You put your hands on my Luna."
Logan clawed desperately at Kaelen's grip, his feet kicking uselessly in the air. "It was... a mistake... please..."
With a sound of pure disgust, Kaelen threw him to the ground. Before Logan could scramble away, Kaelen's boot connected with his ribs. The sickening crack echoed across the now-silent training yard.
"A mistake?" Kaelen thundered, delivering another savage kick. "Striking my mate was a MISTAKE?"
