Chapter 20 - Chapter 19: Meeting the Hero Faction

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sleek transport vehicle dropped Marcus and Kiya at the gates of the Hero Faction mansion. The massive estate stood proud in the heart of Santa Cario, its luxurious architecture gleaming in the moonlight. Palm trees swayed gently along the marble path leading to the door.

He entered the foyer and was immediately greeted by the serious and elegant Ewelina Hellsing.

"You're back," she said, giving a faint smile. "Come with me. It's time for you to meet the others."

They walked into the vast central hall where the rest of the Hero Faction members had gathered. Conversations hushed as all eyes turned toward Marcus.

"Everyone," Ewelina said with a gesture, "this is Marcus Reynards, our new member."

A tall, imposing man stepped forward—Adam Maverick. He crossed his tattooed arms and gave Marcus a piercing look. "You better not slow us down, kid," he said with a gravelly voice. "But if you're here, you must have something serious going for you."

Marcus gave a confident nod. "I won't disappoint."

Next was the smooth, calculating Alphons Hoganis, who greeted him with a playful grin. "Welcome aboard, Reynards. Just keep up and try not to get fried."

Yosef Ironrose simply nodded in acknowledgment, his scarred face showing no emotion.

"Nice to meet you," said Audo Crito with a noble tone, offering a polite handshake. "We're all here to protect the world. I'm sure you'll fit in."

Then came the youngest ones—Leo Montrose, the shy boy who gave a small wave, and Irinka Ackryn, the twin-tailed girl who skipped forward with a mischievous smile.

"You look fun," Irinka said, licking a lollipop. "Let's hope you don't die too early."

Marcus blinked, unsure if she was joking.

Cloelia Pictor sized him up like a drill sergeant. "Don't give me a reason to yell. I hate yelling."

Nona Laeca stepped forward shyly, bowing respectfully, while Thuri Sylvian gave a warm, teasing smile.

"Oh, he's cuter than I thought," Thuri said playfully. "This is going to be fun."

Finally, Joyanne Valerian stepped from the shadows of the corner, her presence elegant and commanding.

"Welcome," she said calmly. "Stay focused and you'll find your place."

And then came the tall, scar-faced teen with golden streaked hair—Hanma Carabeus. He tilted his head, giving Marcus a curious look. "Let's see what you're made of when we train."

With all eyes on him, Marcus stood tall, letting Kiya jump down and sit beside him. The air was filled with strength, power, and potential. The Hero Faction wasn't just a team. They were a force. And Marcus had just become part of something far greater than himself.
