Chapter 10 - OVER THE LIMIT

Nash quickly went to the surveillance room to see who dared to disturb him.

A month ago, when he was fortifying the house, he had also placed camera bugs on the entire street.

Nash didn't want to wake up one day to find the enemy was already at his doorstep.

If not for the expense and trouble, he would want to wiretap the whole Landon City.

"Hmm? Is that Camilla and the Steel Bones Gang?"

On the screen, Camilla and her gang were armed with guns, chasing a hooded man.

The hooded man didn't seem to want to fight as he agilely jumped and moved around the streets, trying to lose them.

Unfortunately, Camilla and her gang surrounded the area, cornering the hooded man.

Knowing he was trapped, the hooded man stopped and looked toward his pursuers.

"Enough, you humans! Running doesn't mean I dare not kill you!" the hooded man said coldly.

Unfortunately, the pursuers, being professionals, didn't listen and just fired a barrage of bullets.

"Huh? Is this a Transcendent?" Nash thought in shock, seeing the hooded man unaffected by the gunfire.

"Damn you! Die!"

In a rage, the hooded man attacked all his pursuers, killing over a dozen people in an instant.

Soon, just when Nash thought it was over, he heard a loud bang, tearing off the hooded man's arm.

"Damn! A C1 Void Sniper?! Who are you?!" the hooded man cursed, not caring about his torn arm as he attempted to escape.

"This man and the Steel Bones Gang are not simple..."

Watching the scene, Nash felt he lacked sufficient intel-gathering ability.

He had already investigated the Steel Bones Gang.

As an enemy on his pursuit, Nash wouldn't be able to sleep if he didn't investigate them.

After buying and gathering various intelligence about the Steel Bones Gang, Nash concluded they were just a local gang managing the dump site.

However, seeing their neat and professional movements, weaponry, and how they dared to fight a suspected Transcendent, Nash was sure they were related to the rebel group in one way or another.

As they were about to corner the hooded man, he took out a dark crystal, absorbing it and giving himself a chance to escape his predicament.

"Void Crystal! The Void Crystal is with him!"

Seeing the Void Crystal they were looking for was with the hooded man, they no longer hesitated and pursued even more fiercely.

Unfortunately, with the endless energy flowing through the Void Crystal, the hooded man regained his power, escaping through several blockades until he ran out of sight.

Out of his monitoring range, Nash slowly stood up, deciding something.

"Void Crystal..."

The Void Crystal was the most essential material for stepping onto the Transcendence path.

Seeing it with his own eyes, how could he just let it go?

Going to the armory, he quickly assembled the killing weapons he had bought.

"D5 Void Sniper~" Nash muttered, thinking of the weapon the Steel Bones Gang used.

Divided in D-S, numbering 5-1, D5 Void Sniper was the cheapest weapon he could buy that could damage a transcendent.

Recalling the power of the C1 Void Sniper that tore the hooded man's arm, Nash was eager to try his.

Hiding the sniper in a case, he went out of his house, looking in the direction the hooded man had escaped.

However, just as he went outside, he realized he didn't even have a car.

Although he could afford a car, buying one was more troublesome than renting a house.

Feeling the weight of the D5 Void Sniper slowing him down, he frowned, thinking of a way to chase that hooded man.

"That's right, the Runic Space!"

Thinking of the [Control Module System] he had just created, it was just in time to test if his effort was worth it.

With his consciousness inside the Runic Space, his body briefly lost balance and fell to the ground.

"Stand up," Nash commanded.

Looking at the projection screen, his body slowly stood up like a robot.

"Run!" Adjusting the direction, he controlled his body to run.

However, as it ran, the body slipped and fell, toppling out of balance because of the additional weight on his back.

"Tsk, manual control," not having time to create a more sophisticated runic module system, Nash had to control the [Control Module System] himself.

Micromanaging the muscles, bones, and organs, his body started to find a rhythm, running steadily even with the sniper on his back.

"Not enough."

Thinking about the proper running posture, movement of muscles, rotation of bones, rhythm of breath, and the pace of heartbeat, Nash controlled his body to run in the most perfect form.

"Still not enough, more speed."

Running perfectly like a professional athlete, Nash was still unsatisfied and used the golden rune to overload the [Control Module System].

However, just as he was pushing his body like throttling an acceleration pad of a car, he suddenly saw a trickle of blood flowing through his body's nose.

"Oops, I overdid it a little," Nash thought and hurriedly slowed down, fearing his body would fall apart.

Slowing down, he tested the limits of his body until he could no longer see any apparent damage.

Finding the maximum speed his body could stand, Nash began to deduce where the hooded man ran off to.

"Now, where are you..."

Thinking of the speech pattern, poise, attitude, and the look in the hooded man's eyes, Nash's brain ran into overdrive, comparing it to the patterns a fleeing person would usually do

"Central Area, left side, no crowd, silent place..."

Analyzing the direction the hooded man escaped, he controlled his body to run at maximum speed for nearly ten minutes.

"There you are!" Nash thought, seeing a trail of blood inconspicuously lying on the ground.

Finding his target, Nash controlled his body to slow down as he looked for a high-rise building.

Climbing to a vantage point, Nash quickly found his target lying on the ground, with his arms bleeding out.

Commanding his body to set up the sniper, he noticed another deficiency.

"This can't work,"

Even if he manually controlled his body, without his nerve speed, touch, and feelings of air, he could never hit a target a kilometer away.

The [Control Module System] and the [Sensing Module System] he created were too crude, with only basic control and sight to gather information.

"I can only do this—Hiss" Coming out to control his body, Nash suddenly felt overwhelming pain, like his body was about to fall apart.

"No! Not yet!" Yelling internally, Nash bit his tongue to prevent himself from fainting.

Positioning the sniper, his mind began to overclock, calculating all possibilities, he aimed at the hooded man.

Bang!~
