Hi, I'm Patrick. Everyone's heard of Shadowhunters those stories where a girl discovers her powers on her 18th birthday. But my story is different.
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Patrick who loved everyone, especially his grandpa. He didn't like problems and had many friends. But everything changed on his 10th birthday.
That day started off amazing. My family and I were traveling. At the airport, everything seemed fine, but I began to feel strange. When we landed in London and got to our apartment, I overheard my grandma and grandpa whispering something about my 10th birthday changing everything.
Later, my mom told me to go to my room. I was crying, and my brothers asked why. I told them what I heard, and they just laughed, saying, "You're just growing up."
At the party, everyone gave me clothes and games. But my grandpa handed me a book and a pen. "Start writing," he said. "Don't stop, no matter what. There's a symbol that will guide you."
The next day, he had to leave for a legal case. I begged him not to go, but he said I could ride with him. In the car, we listened to music. But then, everything changed. A car overtook us crash.
I almost died that day. But when I woke up, I felt different. I started seeing strange symbols. They showed up in dreams, books, even in people's words. I asked around, but people said I was going crazy.
The only person who could have understood was my grandpa but he was gone.
One day, I remembered he had a friend. I searched his room and found the man's number. When he came, my parents were upset. But he explained everything.
"Your grandpa was like you," he said. "The symbols chose him too. You're not crazy. You're gifted. The poems and symbols you see draw them. They'll guide you."
And that was the beginning of my true story.
