Chapter 1 - Chapter One – Framed

Presidential Suite, Room 1001.

In the pitch-dark room, a stifled sound echoed.

Su Wanwan's petite frame curled up helplessly, her delicate brows furrowed gently as her pearly teeth bit down on her crimson lower lip. After gasping several times for air, she finally forced out a single word.

"It hurts…"

The moment the word slipped from her lips, the man's movements halted briefly. He gripped her small chin lightly and kissed her deeply.

When daylight finally broke, Su Wanwan opened her sore, heavy eyelids and slowly sat up. At the foot of the bed, clothes were strewn in disarray. Crumpled tissues littered the floor—a clear testament to the intensity of the previous night.

Su Wanwan pressed her pale lips together, her smile tinged with a hint of shyness. She had originally planned to save this moment for their wedding night. But she and Ye Nan had been together for two years, and just last month, they'd met each other's parents and sealed their engagement. Everything had seemed to fall into place naturally.

She never imagined that the usually gentle and refined Ye Nan could become so unrecognizable in this aspect.

Just as she was lost in her blissful thoughts, the sound of a keycard unlocking the door broke the silence.

Panicking, Su Wanwan hastily pulled the blanket up to cover her body, revealing only her neck and collarbones.

Moments later, two figures burst into the room.

The man, with his striking features and impeccably tailored suit, appeared even more elegant and poised. But upon seeing the bruises on Su Wanwan's neck and the palpable scent of passion that lingered in the room… his expression turned thunderous.

Blushing, Su Wanwan softly called out, "Ye Nan…"

Before she could finish, his hand lashed out!

Smack!

Her hair lifted in an arc through the air as her face was violently struck to the side. The stinging pain left her stunned. A ringing filled her ears, her mind blank and unable to process what had just happened.

The woman beside Ye Nan gasped in shock, eyes wide in disbelief as she covered her mouth.

"Oh my god… Sister, how could you betray Brother Nan like this?!"

Her shrill voice droned on, and through her daze, Su Wanwan vaguely heard words like betrayal and infidelity.

It took a long moment for Su Wanwan to find her voice. She glared at the woman, her tone furious.

"Su Nian, what nonsense are you spouting? I only came here last night because Ye Nan sent me a message!"

Ye Nan stood rooted to the spot, his fists clenched and trembling, his teeth gritted.

"When did I ever message you? I was home all night—I never left!"

"Su Wanwan, at this point, you're still lying?"

Su Wanwan stared at him in disbelief, clutching the blanket tightly with one hand while reaching for her phone with the other, determined to prove her innocence.

But when she unlocked the phone and opened her messages, the text was gone.

Ye Nan's voice was cold and steady: "Su Wanwan, what excuse do you have now?"

Grabbing his sleeve in desperation, Su Wanwan's voice quivered despite her resolve. "Ye Nan, I swear—I didn't lie to you."

Ye Nan flung off her hand in disgust, his face filled with revulsion.

"Don't touch me! You make me sick!"

"Su Wanwan, we're done!"

With that, Ye Nan turned and stormed out.

Su Wanwan scrambled to follow, but in her panic, her foot caught on the edge of the blanket, and she tumbled to the ground.

The blanket slipped from her body, revealing the marks left from their intimacy.

Su Wanwan's jaw trembled, her arms barely supporting her on the floor. The bloodstain on the sheets seared into her eyes.

A chill crept up her spine.

If the man from last night wasn't her fiancé Ye Nan…Then who was it?

With a heavy heart, Su Wanwan walked home. Passing by a pharmacy, she bought a box of emergency contraceptives and swallowed one dry—no water, no hesitation.

Since it had already happened, she had to take responsibility for the aftermath. If she got pregnant, the consequences would be devastating.

As soon as she stepped through the door, her father's furious voice rang out.

"Gone all night and now you decide to come home?!"

Su Wanwan said nothing and headed upstairs, only to be yanked back by the wrist and thrown onto the sofa.

"Master, please calm down. Don't scare Wanwan."

A woman dressed in luxury gently clung to Mr. Su's arm and looked at Su Wanwan with feigned tenderness.

"Wanwan, tell your stepmother—did something… really happen last night?"

Su Wanwan's pale lips remained tightly shut, her face expressionless.

Mr. Su was livid, his hands shaking in anger.

"Well done. Just excellent. What a fine daughter the Su family has raised!"

"Ye Nan just called me—he's breaking off the engagement! He even wants the betrothal money returned!"

"But that money has already been invested into the company. Where am I supposed to get it back from?!"

"Su Wanwan, you're nothing but a disgrace and a failure!"

"You're young and already so shameless! You can't even compare to your sister in any regard. Now you've gone and fooled around with some random man—how utterly humiliating!"

Su Wanwan lifted her gaze. Her obsidian-like eyes were now clouded with sorrow and disbelief.

"Humiliation?"

She chuckled softly, her tone unreadable.

"You've always believed that my existence is a stain upon the Su family, haven't you?"

Song Hui, her stepmother, sighed lightly.

"Wanwan, don't say that. Your father is just worried about you—that's why his words are so harsh."

Su Wanwan remained indifferent.

"Is that so? I suppose what truly concerns him is how much money I can earn for him."

Mr. Su slammed his palm onto the table, his rage boiling over.

"Watch your tongue! Do you even know what you're saying?!"

"If I had known this would happen, I never should've brought you back from your grandmother's place!"

Song Hui quickly tried to calm the storm.

"Master, no matter what, Wanwan is still your daughter…"

A cold, mocking smile tugged at Su Wanwan's lips.

Just as Mr. Su began to settle down, her expression reignited his fury.

"What are you laughing at?!"

"You're condemning me based on Ye Nan's words alone. So in your eyes, I'm not even worth the benefit of the doubt—not even more than an outsider."

Seeing Mr. Su about to explode again, Song Hui hurriedly interjected.

"Enough, enough. What's done is done. What's the point of arguing now?"

"Besides, Wanwan is an adult—she must have her own thoughts. We should focus on how to resolve this."

"Hmph. Easy for you to say. You think I can just pull five million out of thin air? You know the state of the company!"

Mr. Su's fury only grew.

The engagement had been arranged early so they could use the betrothal money to patch up the company's financial crisis!

After a long silence, Mr. Su suddenly declared:

"Since your marriage with Ye Nan is off, you'll marry the eldest son of the Fu family."

Su Wanwan's body jolted violently, staring at him in disbelief.

"I won't marry him."

It was rumored that the eldest son of the Fu family had been severely burned in a fire years ago. His temperament had since become violent and cruel. His face was said to be horribly disfigured, his body broken, and he was known for tormenting women.

If she married such a man, her entire life would be ruined.
