Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Beginning

RRRRRRRiiiiiiiiinnnnnngggggg!!!!! The school bell rang, and I sat back and looked out the window, thinking about what to do to get a raise at my two jobs. "Jack!" I heard my name called from the classroom door. I turned and saw Chris standing there looking at me. "What's up, Chris?" I asked before getting up and walking up to him. "Jack, let's go to the game store. I heard that the new Star Wars game came out." I looked at Chris with a deadpan expression and said, "You know I have work today, right? I don't have time to play games or anything." Chris looks at me before turning around and walking away with me, following him, "Look, Jack, you've got to take a break. Working and school all the time is not healthy for you, plus I heard that you can make money in the game once you link your Bank Account to it. Just come and try it out for a bit with me." I sigh before nodding, "Alright, I guess I can come and try it out for a bit." Chris cheers in victory as we make our way to the game store. Once we reach the store, we get in line for the game and the headset.

After a few minutes, we hear "NEXT!" and step up to the counter where a guy is typing up orders and making payments, and another guy in a lab coat is sitting at a table with equipment set up to take DNA samples. "Two Headsets, please," Chris says. "Please spit into these Cups so we can register the Headsets for you," the second man says in a flat, tired tone. After Chris Pays, we spit into our respective cups, and he dips slips of DNA Paper into them before putting one in each headset. Soon, the headset flashes green, and the man says in that same dead tone. "You can only have one account per person. No one can use it besides you. "Have a Magical Day, and may the Force be with you." We both nod as we take the Headsets from the first man. We start walking back to our houses. We talk about what we are doing once we start playing. I am slowly getting excited to start playing.

I step into my Home and yell, "Hey, Dad, I'm home!" before running upstairs to my room to start playing. I sit on my bed and pull the headset out of its box as I read the user manual and set it up. I then lay down and put the headset on before pressing the power button. Once I turn it on, all I can see is Blackness, and suddenly, I hear the Intro. "Before the Dawn of the Republic, there were hundreds of Planets and Star Systems, all with their own types of Government." As the Voice continues to speak, I am heralded through space, going from Planet to Planet, witnessing large battles, Bustling Cities being built, Lush Forests, giant Grassy Plains, glowing Cave systems, and ancient ruins. "Many Species thrived and many did not, thousands of years for people to appear, grow, and disappear into the sands of time. Many of them are gone without any traces of where they went or what happened to them to make them disappear. It is up to you to find your Purpose in this Galaxy, whether it's to discover what happened to these Lost Species or if your Purpose lies in a different Direction, like Politics, Warfare, Inventions, innovations, or spirituality. The possibilities are endless, it is only up to you to find your path in this large Galaxy." As soon as the Voice finishes speaking, my Vision goes dark, and all I can hear is a low hum of engines in the background.
