Facing this scene, Temple and Grimpu, two Low-Rank Demons, had extremely grim expressions.
After Olthagia swallowed the Gift of Souls, they could no longer sense any fluctuations from it.
They immediately realized that Olthagia possessed the ability to rapidly digest the Gift of Souls. Only with such a capability would this Lesser Demon dare to provoke two Low-Rank Demons like them.
In that moment, their killing intent could no longer be suppressed. They wished they could skin Olthagia alive and devour him.
Feeling that his physical abilities had reached the peak level of a Lesser Demon, and sensing the malice from his opponents that could no longer be contained, Olthagia's eyes seemed to overflow with bloodlust. His golden vertical pupils radiated killing intent as he roared:
"I'll slaughter you both!"
Blood-red flames automatically ignited on his body, and his crimson hair billowed without wind.
Mana and Blood Flame surged simultaneously from beneath his feet. A wave of demonic flames formed beneath him, and with unimaginable speed, he crossed dozens of meters in a single step, leaving only a trail of gliding flames that had yet to fall from the air.
He pressed his hands onto their faces, using sheer brute force to shatter their mana defenses. The demonic flames sprayed onto their faces at point-blank range, overwhelming their anger and fear with intense pain.
Their massive bodies were rendered useless as Olthagia used his raw strength to press their faces into the ground, grinding them against rubble and debris. Using his feet as leverage, he began running at full speed.
The airflow at this extreme velocity transformed into a semi-transparent barrier, blowing everything around them away.
The flesh and bones of their heads were gradually worn away by the intense friction, turning into dust that smeared across the ground.
The ground along the path was plowed into a trench dozens of centimeters deep. Everything in its path—whether large rocks, towering trees, or already fallen corpses—was instantly shattered into pieces, flung into the air by the surging airflow, and scattered along with the dust.
When Olthagia finally came to a stop, the ground had been violently plowed into a path hundreds of meters long. Only a third of their heads remained, and even that portion had been cooked by the high temperatures caused by the friction.
"Worthless!"
After draining their power, Olthagia kicked them away and turned his attention to the other corpses that had yet to be harvested.
He couldn't afford to waste anything. He had to be frugal.
At least for now.
After finishing his task, Olthagia immediately headed toward the main battlefield, where chaos and slaughter still reigned.
There, a vast fortune awaited him.
Although most of the Gift of Souls had already been snatched away, the battlefield remained chaotic.
In fact, it had become even more chaotic!
Most of the Demonic Creatures had completely lost their minds. At this point, they no longer cared about the Gift of Souls; they only wanted to kill everything in sight.
All sorts of chaotic spells flew in every direction. Since there were no allies to worry about, hitting anyone was fair game. If they managed to hit someone, it was a bonus. They could just close their eyes and cast spells recklessly.
The cacophony of roars and wails mingled together as the frenzied demons no longer cared about anything—neither their own lives nor the lives of others. All that mattered was death and lamentation.
It was like a carnival!
Casually deflecting an ice spike that someone had hurled at him, Olthagia unceremoniously joined the fray. Although the [Gift of Souls] was still being fiercely contested, he chose not to get involved. Each [Gift of Souls] now had at least a thousand pairs of eyes fixed on it. If he were to directly convert the [Gift of Souls] into Evolution Points in front of them, Olthagia estimated a 95% chance he wouldn't make it out alive.
So, instead, he opted to engage in some simple, unadorned fun with a group of blood-crazed demons—ripping out one's heart, kicking another's head—simple and pure, like a farmer harvesting crops in a field.
With a wave of his hand, not a drop of sweat fell, only a smear of blood from his fingertips splattered onto the eyes of the demon before him.
In this friendly activity where friend and foe were indistinguishable, it was normal to occasionally get a few scratches, but they were mostly inconsequential. With a demon's vitality, such injuries were trivial, and the inherent savagery of demonic nature made Olthagia particularly gleeful in this situation!
After an unknown amount of time, when the celestial bodies had completely descended below the horizon, Olthagia finally withdrew from the battlefield, leaving the still-celebrating demons to continue their slaughter and indulgence.
By now, he was drenched from head to toe in blood.
Most of his hair had been torn out, three fingers on his right hand had been bitten off, the tip of his tail had been severed, there were two penetrating wounds in his abdomen, and a piece of his exoskeletal armor had been ripped off. Yet, there was not a trace of anger or pain on his face—only an exceptionally relaxed smile, as if he were savoring something beautiful.
The blood still flowing from his body, whether his own or others', did nothing to dampen his mood.
The recent slaughter had left him feeling incredibly refreshed. It was a cathartic battle that had released the pent-up cruelty in his heart.
After a long while.
Having adjusted his mindset, Olthagia glanced at the now completely darkened sky and casually chose a direction to move forward.
Since most of the nearby Demonic Creatures were either still engaged in slaughter, already dead, or recuperating from injuries and unable to concern themselves with anything else, Olthagia, despite reeking of blood to an extreme degree, encountered no obstacles on his path. Even the bloodthirsty flies, which were usually as numerous as microbes, were scarce, likely all drawn to the chaotic battlefield.
After walking some distance, Olthagia arrived at the edge of a cliff.
After carefully observing for a while, he began to climb. After ascending about a dozen meters, he slipped into a cave whose entrance was lightly covered with weeds.
There were no demons in the cave, but there were many bones of various shapes. Judging by their freshness, the most recent ones were at least a month old, meaning the owner of this cave likely hadn't returned for about a month.
In the Wailing Forest, such a situation usually meant the owner was either dead or had been driven out.
So, Olthagia waved his hand, releasing a crimson flame that incinerated everything within the cave.
Then, two Flame Arrows shot towards the upper part of the rocks at the cave entrance, blasting them down and completely burying the entrance.
Finally, in the dark cave, apart from the burnt remnants scattered on the ground, only Olthagia remained.

[Evolution Points: 87,742]
[Note: The values in parentheses for body and soul represent the normal level of an infant demon at birth. Each increase in points enhances the current strength by one-fifth. For example, 6 points are one-fifth stronger than 5 points, and 7 points are one-fifth stronger than 6 points, increasing in percentage. The percentage in the skill brackets represents the proficiency in that skill. When it reaches 100%, it will advance to a higher-level skill.]
This was all of Olthagia's gains in the month since advancing to [Lesser Demon].
Except for using 4,000 Evolution Points to evolve [Camouflage - Silence], almost none of the points were spent. Out of the more than 80,000 Evolution Points, over 20,000 were provided by [Gift of Souls], and the remaining three-fifths were obtained in the recent battle.
A day of brutal slaughter yielded gains comparable to a month of slow hunting. Although it was more dangerous, it was also more direct.
Unfortunately, such an opportunity only comes once a year. At other times, one still has to play hide-and-seek with them, which left Olthagia somewhat helpless!
After some thought, Olthagia began issuing commands to the evolution system again.
Based on the current amount of Evolution Points, conduct a comprehensive optimization in the most optimal manner, in conjunction with the automatic modifications during advancement.
Ensure that the host retains the ability to exit the modification process at any time during the transformation.
To a certain extent, adjust the host's appearance to align with personal aesthetic preferences while preserving the optimization effects. If this would lead to optimization failure, this clause is to be canceled, and all other instructions shall take precedence.
These three instructions are essential and non-negotiable. In addition, before the first instruction, Olthagia set two additional instructions regarding the evolution of special innate abilities.
Only after the evolution of these two innate abilities is complete will the remaining Evolution Points be utilized according to the three instructions above. Only then will he have the opportunity to proceed with his subsequent plans and experiments.
