Chapter 13 - Pralaya

A coffee machine had been pre-installed, knowing that caffeine was the team's horsepower.

"You know, I think that we should first interrogate Nivedhan Iyer. He seems pretty suspicious- a guy like that can do anything for money." Gargi suggested.

"Instead of that, why not directly ask Sandeep Khurana and Varun Gujar?" Aniket said.

"Nope. Those people are powerful. They can make huge problems out of a simple incident." Karan replied, looking at Aniket with a sort of apologetic look.

"Okay. Then we leave for Nivedhan right now. It's better to wrap this up as early as we can." Gargi said, standing up.

Then she looked at Ishar, who was sitting and reading a file about CB-1 with utmost attention.

"Hey. Hey!"

Naren poked Ishar with a pencil. Ishar looked up in annoyance.

Now having Ishar's attention, Gargi said, "What are you guys planning to do?"

Ishar sighed. "This CB-1-"

"-First of all, let's not call it CB-1. It sounds like the name for a vaccine, or some disgusting medicine."

Pratap interrupted. "It's our utmost final decision, we're going to call it 'Pralaya', meaning destruction."

"Who finalized this?" Aniket asked Pratap with an incredulous look.

"I did." he replied, lifting his head up with an irritating look of superiority.

"Okay guys, LISTEN." Ishar announced. "We're going to be looking at the behavior patterns and movements of Pralaya-1. We'll see if we can predict how it's going to move, and the necessary precautions we will have to take at the borders for non-digital communication in case of a blackout."

"Maybe one of us should go to the singular spot. See how the asteroid is connected to it." Naren said.

It was not a bad idea. Searching the singular spot could tell how the asteroid, or whatever it was, would affect the Earth and the possible intersections of a blackout.

"Great! Then how about all of us go together. First we'll drop at Nivedhan Iyer's and then conduct the scientific readings of the singular spot. Naren, Gargi, come with me, we'll pack the electromagnetic meters and thermal readers and other instruments along as well." Ishar said.

For the first time in history, Naren nodded his head without a word, and Ishar cooperated with Naren without fighting.
