-Got admission in IIT Delhi at the age of 14 as in Electrical Engineering B.Tech.
-Didn't get job, due to License Raj, so became IAS officer at the age of 17.
-Assigned as the District Collector of Saharsa district in Bihar. Got into trouble against a politician for exposing his corruption. Got transfered to Bakhtiarpur just 6 months later.
-Built water conservation reservoirs in drought and biomass plant in 5 villages. Got transferred to an even smaller village for not inviting the MLA for inauguration.
He did not conduct any inauguration in the first place.
-Resigned from his job and started a tuition in his home for IIT in 1973, named Nalanda Coaching, with 47 students.
—Out of 47 students, 40 students got in an IIT in 1975. But, one of them committed suicide because of not being able to get in.
-He shut down tuition after that, and created a political party named, 'Development Party' in 1975.
-Became MLA for the first time in 1980 at the age of 25, from Bakhtiyarpur constituency of Patna. He was the only one who won from his party.
-Won in 1985 again, with DP growing to a strength of 29 MLAs, winning the entirety of Patna and some districts.
-In 10 years of being the MLA of his constituency, he has brought water to every home, made water reservoirs and biomass plants in every village, Patna actually has good roads now with no potholes. The effects of flood has been severely reduced due to proper drainage system, but it gets clogged due to people throwing trash.
-By addressing corruption on Congress and Janta Dal, and his own work in Patna, Development Party has finally become the biggest political party in 1990 Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections.
