Chapter 1 - Our Story

Frost- So let's start from the very beginning. For a long time, people lived in a world that was not very dangerous. But one day, an unknown object appeared in the sky. It looked like a crack. Like a crack on a glass panel, but in the sky. That was something never seen before. No one was able to guess what was going to happen next. The crack started to get larger and larger by the passing days and in the end, it broke!

Unknown creatures started to swarm through the crack. They looked like they came out of an action movie, or a video game. Like fiction, became reality. They were mesmerizing, totally different from what people used to. After a few seconds of eye contact, they started attacking people. Monsters everywhere! Coming from the crack! Rawr arr!?! Destroying everything on their path. People tried to fight against them but no weapon was able to damage them. Desperation, the smell of the corpses, fear of upcoming death… Is this the end? What are they gonna do? Plz someone save them!!

Nine- Can't you do this somewhere else? Like where is not the kitchen?

Frost - You're ruining the entire narrative!

Nine- I'm just trying to enjoy my morning coffee. Also if I were the narrator, I wouldn't start telling the story like this. If you start like this, it would be one of the hundreds of stories up there that repeat the same quotes over and over. You need originality.

Frost- How would you tell the story then?

Nine- Start with a mystery. Share a secret that will be explained after 100 chapters. If people get interested in it, they will read it.

Frost- This sounds manipulative and utterly wrong.

Nine- A good storyteller always plans the background story and the ending even before starting a series. So, just give a little hint about the background story.

Frost- Still, I don't have many ideas. You start.

Nine- Ahem… When the second sun showed itself behind the mountains, the dark land started to lighten up. It was the beginning of a new day. The young dragon grunted. The sunlight was directly coming into his eyes. He moved his head to the other side. He felt an entity, standing by and watching him. The entity spoke with a warm and joyful voice. "Wake up!! The day has already started." #[{![\ had a large smile on his face.

Frost - Spoilers! Spoiler alert!

Nine- How are you planning to tell a story, without building a mystery? I mean I even censored the name.

Frost- Still, that doesn't sound right.

Aright- What topic made you talk about that passionately, this early in the morning?

Frost - I'm trying to tell our story but I hit the wall.

Nine- Maybe, you are not suited for this job.

Frost - At least I'm not giving spoilers about big reveals gonna happen in the future!

Aright- If you two allow me, I want to try too.

Nine- Sure

Frost - Go on

Aright- When he came back to his senses, the black dragon was staring at him directly. Its body was emitting a black smoke that covered its surroundings like there was no one else but them. Red eyes were glowing with rage and they were following every move of his, like being extra cautious. Makes you think, who's the most dangerous one between them? David takes a deep breath that fills his lungs, fixes his composition and gets ready for the crash. Dragon charges directly to him…

Frost - I mean… who's David? What's that black dragon and why are they fighting? I think you should give some context.

Nine- Agreed. This is not going to work.

Aright- It's hard to make a presentation that makes everyone happy.

Lucid- My ears ringing this early in the morning, that's new. What are you guys doin'

Frost - Our savior has appeared!

Aright-- I... I... I don't get what you mean… You said that yesterday, I was the one who's your savior.

Nine- Someone's jelly

Aright- Jelly? I don't remember buying them.

Frost - Wow… This is awkward.

Nine- Dude…

Lucid- …

Frost - Aside from that, I'm trying to tell our story to everyone. But we wouldn't be able to find the best way to deliver it. Any ideas?

Lucid- Hmm… If I was the one who's telling it, the story would start like that…

<…>

The clock was showing 7.35 when the sun started to rise in the city. The city was waking from its seemingly short sleep. Ruined streets started to get crowded with people. Tall buildings that cut through the sun's light created large shadows, which almost covered the ruins of last night. Main Street was full of large holes with a seemingly mysterious origin. Many cars were damaged, and there was visible damage on nearby buildings.

A group of yellow-clothed people were investigating the area. Some of them were carrying junk, and some of them were taking notes about the damage. A crowd was gathered at the beginning of the ruined street. One of the yellow clothed men pushed the crowd back, placed a barricade tape to prevent them getting closer to the scene.

Crowd- So, this is where the Break happened. I heard that "Zael" was also here.

Crowd- Oh my, isn't he the best! Both handsome and powerful.

Crowd- He's the man of dreams!

Crowd- These Associations can't even do their jobs truthfully yet still get praised by people.

Crowd- I mean, these Break stuff started to happen more frequently. I think they are short of manpower.

Crowd- Let's just hope they will be able to manage it. Or else we're all gonna die.

One of the yellow-clothed people yelled, "Hey man, look what I found." He was holding an old radio. It probably came from the nearby store that was destroyed during the brawl. "I bet it still works."

Another one came closer and said, "If this thing still works, I will pay for your food today."

"Deal" After saying it, he started to play with the buttons. After a few adjustments, radio connected to the mainstream.

-News-

"After last night's Creak Break, Street 36 and 42 are currently unavailable to use. We're fixing them, for the people of our nice city. So in the meantime please use alternative streets. Stay safe and trust the New World Association"

"That was the statement of the current leader of the New World Association, Zael. An increasing number of cases are surely worrying but we can be sure that associations are working hard for us. For our next topic…"

-News-

"Looks like I'm eating an extra big burger."

"Looks like it. This old stuff is pretty durable, they don't produce stuff with this quality anymore."

On the other side of the street, a young man was running seems to be in a hurry. The clock was showing 7.47
