The first death
**Arin's POV**
As something very big hit the castle doors, the sound of splintered wood going off echoed through the air.
Someone yelled, "They're here!"
I didn't have time to think about Siena's bloodthirsty eyes or how she looked. The stray wolves had found us and were quickly breaking through our walls.
Alpha Vaughn walked into the room quickly, looking angry and ready to fight. "Everyone go to the safe rooms. Right now!"
But before anyone could move, the huge oak doors exploded inward. Wood flew everywhere, and through the smoking hole stepped Cassian. He didn't look at all like the rough war expert I remembered. His eyes glowed red, and dark veins crawled up his arms like poison.
"Hello, old friend," he said to Alpha Vaughn, his voice darker and more dangerous than before.
"Cassian," Alpha Vaughn breathed. "What have you done to yourself?"
