"Hi,my name is Lucia I am from Florida,I was raised by a single mum known as Miss Theresa and my amazing Grandma,whom I call Grandma D(D for Dorathy)". My parents are both co-parents,after my birth my dad got arrested and imprisoned for theft for good eight years,my mum who was once a stripper. Went back to what she was doing so she could carter,for her little baby,my mum and grandma mum did all they can to sort our bills and still go visit my dad.
Things have never been easy for her since my dad got imprisoned,it was hell for us. Some days we struggle to eat three times a day other days we go to sleep on an empty stomach. It wasn't easy for us,my grandma D has always been our biggest support system but when she got ills and was bed ridden. Mum had to do everything all by herself,after a couple of months grandma got herself and was brought back home but she was still under supervision,to make sure she is very okay. My mum Theresa did not want anything to happen to her mum,so she spoke to Grandma D to rest and stop stressing herself over nothing. Mum said to her "Mama,I know you're trying to support our growth,but you know you can't be going to Sir Joe's place to clear his garden, walk his dogs around the neighborhood from Mondays to Sundays,I know you feel pity for me and also you have been doing all of these since I was a child and till now you're still doing them,you have tried for us and I need you to stop if not for me but for Lucia,who will look after her when I have gone out to work,who will be at the house to welcome me each night I come back home and who will be there to give me a hug when the world pulling away from sight,mama no one but you. I know it hasn't been easy for us all since dad died. But still I'm young, I'm vibrant,I can work now, allow me do all that and give you and Lucia a better life".
When Mum was done talking,Grandma D started crying, while holding her daughter's arm,it wasn't easy for them but they stuck together and fought everything they can. Miss Theresa and Grandma D,did everything they can to take care of Lucia as a baby,they were always present in her life even though they were not rich. Lucia loves her both parents very much,she admired the strength of her mother and adores the strength of her grandma D. Miss Theresa made sure Lucia was enrolled in a good school,she made sure Lucia has everything she needs. Grandma on the other hand thought Lucia how to be contented with the little things she has because one day Lucia came back from school crying, Grandma D heard her crying,peeped through the window of the house to know who's child was crying and why the child was crying,from a second angle the cry of the child sounds very familiar like that of her grandchild. When she peeped and didn't see the child. She e immediately ran outside to trace the voice and met Lucia holding her pencil and crying. She hurriedly went to her "What's the problem Lucia,did anybody touch you in school?? Are you hurt? Talk to me child". Lucia while crying, trying to compose a complete sentence narrating her reason for crying struggled to say anything. All she was saying was " Aaaa...ma..nda,is....." The grandma immediately hugged her child took her inside to wash her up. After bathing her, dressed her up. Lucia went to lie down on the bed and immediately fell asleep,she didn't wake up till 6pm. Immediately it was 6:40pm her mum came back home from "Relax and chill club". She came with groceries and other household items they will be need for the week,when Lucia saw her mum she went to give her her hug and welcomed her back home.
Lucia said to her mum "mummy I need a Chanel bag, loafers and a pair of Nike sneakers for school". "What about the ones I bought for you before resumption?" Miss Theresa asked her daughter. " I don't like the ones you bought me they look outdated,and no one in school wears such kind of shoes and bags anymore ". The mum was pissed at her daughter and wanted to react but her mum called Lucia to go arrange the things her mum came back with. Lucia was hesitant at first because she wanted her mum to give her an answer before she can go do what grandma her instructed her to do her mum dished in "Do as your grandma has instructed now,you didn't bother to ask me if I have eaten at all today or how my day went all that is important to you is what's trending and the things you want to wear to school ". The mother said bitterly, Lucia picked up the things her mum came with and went to the kitchen to keep them in their various places. After the whole arrangement, Grandma D went to the kitchen to make dinner, Lucia was already there so they both stayed together to do the cooking,so Miss Theresa can eat before going out for her night business. When they were cooking, Grandma D asked Lucia "how was your day in school today ?" "School was very fine, boring and annoying as usual " Lucia replied her Grandma "hmmm,like seriously?? It was boring? Did your teachers not come to school school today??" Not like they didn't come to school, everyone did, Grandma why do you think my teachers won't be in school? It's not proper" Lucia said. " I am curious to know if something improper happened that's why... Before I forget my child what was your reason for crying when coming back from school today?"
